This is amazing, and I have no idea how this works, but it does...
The Movie Test
Try this test and find out what movie is your favorite, but don't look at the movie list
till you have done the math! It will predict which of 18 films you would enjoy the most.
1. Pick a number from 1-9.
2. Multiply by 3.
3. Add 3.
4. Multiply by 3 again.
Now add the two digits together to find your predicted favorite movie in the list of 18 movies below.

I'm sure someone can explain it better, but the series of operations guarantee that you will end up with a result in which the individual digits add up to 9.

1. Pick a number from 1-9.
The set of possible numbers is {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9}
2. Multiply by 3.
The set of possible numbers is {3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27}
3. Add 3.
The set of possible numbers is {6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30}
4. Multiply by 3 again.
The set of possible numbers is {18,27,36,45,54,63,72,81,90}
Now add the two digits together to find your predicted favorite movie in the list of 18 movies below.
All of the possible results follow the formula 9x+9, so they are all multiples of 9. The sum of the digits of any multiples of 9 are also multiples of 9.
