We need a little more commonsense rather than a one size fits all approach to security.

No kidding, and the article does a good job of expressing that. It just doesn't do it in a manner you approve of.

Called your Congresscritter yet? If not, why not?

The NYT is again smearing Reps and getting people like you angry at Boehner.

BUY A CLUE....

Nobody is angry at Boehner.

I’m glad somebody gets it.

The LEO says his bypassing security clearance (for obvious reasons) is standard procedure. OK. I get that.

Steel, in his myopic entitlement view of the world, doesn’t see that Boehner is being treated any differently than anyone else because he’s only thinking of the privileged elite world HE lives in. He doesn’t appear to have a clue that that is NOT reality and in the REAL world that the rest of us inhabit, those he hobnobs with ARE privileged and entitled.

That’s why I said, “The depths of special interest and political entitlement delusion are breathtaking.

That they can justify it and deny what is blatantly obvious to anyone with an IQ above that of an ice cube, ........ “

Steel doesn’t have a clue. He just doesn’t get it that they are being treated differently that the unwashed. He’s acting like this is perfectly natural and normal for them. And deserved.

It smacks of the *Let them eat cake* mentality.

Yup. The posters misunderstood what you were getting at. That Boehner should be guarded and protected is a given. That he should receive special treatment as Speaker is a given. That Steele says Mr. Boehner was not receiving special treatment is a total disconnect.

Which is exactly why we're in the mess we're in today. People like Steel do not see what is really going on and to glibly just pass it off as of no consequence is a dangerous position for someone in politics to be in. They can and will do anything and not understand the implications for the populace they think they are representing.

mom, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Either the Speaker has special security needs or he doesn't. Which is it you prefer?

Regarding Steele, he is indefensible in every area with the exception here. For many other reasons Steele was a bad choice by RNC and needs to go. BUT “This” Speaker IS NOT getting special treatment different from every other Speaker of the House. That is fact. Apparently you mistook Steele's statement as if he was saying Bonhner was not getting special treatment compared to the procedures us citizens have to endure.

This whole charade is a yellow journalism hit piece by the NY Slimes, why are you buying into their BS?

Do you nave reading comprehension issues? Is it really that bad? Is there something about not objecting to to his security detail that you don't get?

Go back and read my posts 51, 65, 83, 142, and 143.

How many times do I have to post that it's not Boehner's security detail that I object to or commented on?

I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT OR OBJECTING TO HIS NEED FOR SECURITY!!!!!

Reread the posts!!!

Objectively.

What they say, not what you've already decided that they say.

Try reading my post 144. Does that make the objection to STEEL”S statement and his disconnect clearer?

He is the new Speaker of the House for heaven sakes.

Pelosi flied on the taxpayer dole and I can guarantee you was never fondled for security reasons.

Perhaps Boehner should have kept up what Nancy was doing and nobody would complain.

Yup, we are not sheep to be herded around. We are supposed to be a free people with elected officials. I suspect (At least I hope) the the uproar over this is just the tip of the iceberg (altho on my FB page, when I posted an article) there were still a lot of bleating sheep, “We have to be safe!”

Give those posters these two quotes.

"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington

Good point.

If Speaker B has to go through the grope line, then so do all the minority party folks - like Nan.

Lets get this change made Jan 1, 2010.

The FULL TSA TREATMENT for ALL OF EM.

I believe Dingy Harry is 3rd in line.

Daniel Inouye is the most senior Sen. (hence, pro-tem. leader). Lautenberg is the oldest, I think, but has fewer years of seniority.

So this means that those who can't avoid this garbage shouldn't?

Pelosi ripped us off by flying commandeering a whole plane & the Slimes kept quiet.

Hey, Congressman Boehner I'd do the same if I were in your shoes. Good for you!

"This is an outrage. What applies to the tax payer should apply to everyone."

He's 3rd in line for POTUS and you think he's a threat to national security?

Because the argument from the lefty TSA mouth-breathers is: Everyone has to be groped because ANYONE can be a terrorist. So, give a thought. . .how many rabid anti-American congressmen (and women) do you know of that are more likely to commit an act of terrorism against this great nation than, say, and 84-yr old grandmother or a double amputee veteran.
