A longer line without Muslim women is a better choice if you are in a hurry.

Unless my MIL is in that longer line.

I think they would have found he has brass balls... Good luck on your own trip. Will watch for a report.

AFAIK prison guards are not allowed to touch a prisoner’s genitals. One would think a person who hasn’t even been accused of anything might have more rights than a convicted felon doing time.

I believe you are correct.

No, they didn’t really have the authority to do anything to him because he was coming off his flight. However, if he was flying out, they sure had the authority to keep him from getting on the plane.
I don’t know how you could win in that situation.

My In-laws returned from their annual vacation in Mexico two weeks ago and said it was the easiest time they ever had getting through airport security. The scanning machines were not turned on, and there was no alternate pat down. Leads me to believe international flights from Mexico are pretty lax.

Flew home from Atlanta Friday night. Same thing. TSA at SeaTac said the machines there will be used early next year.

I did learn one thing at international security, especially in Hong Kong. Never, never, never, never get in line behind Muslim women. They are always, always carrying something that is not allowed. And then they argue endlessly trying to get the security guys to allow them to go through. A longer line without Muslim women is a better choice if you are in a hurry.

I’ve had the same experience just checking in at the airline counter. Trying to scam the baggage fee or something, and the agent spent 20 minutes trying to explain that their scheme (excess carryons or such) wouldn’t work.

My Father worked for Brown & Root in Nigeria in the 80’s. He was regularly arrested but for the purposes of soliciting a bribe. Eventually he started carrying a large book, and when they took him to the station, he would settle down to read. Once they realized there would be no bribe, after 2 or 3 hours, they let him go. Sounds like we are headed down that road. Enjoy the Dark Ages America!

“”Two or three years ago I returned to the US from Europe via the Atlanta airport. Between customs, carrying my luggage to the other place, and the screening to get back into the secured area, I missed my connecting flight. Fortunately there were more flights to my final destination the same day but my luggage didn’t make it on the next flight so I had to wait at my final destination airport for the flight after that to get my luggage back.

How soon will the International Terminal be operational””?

“Because terrorists from the middle east have to “arrive” in America?”

That would be an issue for customs and immigration, not TSA, I think. TSA is only looking for weapons and explosives, not terrorists. If a terrorist has already been on the plane isn’t it a bit late to be checking for explosives? (Are they expected to pack in their own bombs for later use?) And if TSA doesn’t trust the screening done in France, why are they certified to do it? This doesn’t make sense at all. But this is the gov’t we’re talking about.

My assumption is that leaving the international concourse you’re dumped onto a domestic one, and when you enter a domestic concourse, you have to be screened.

Very familiar with CVG, lived in the Cincinnati area for 15 years. You have the main terminal area where TSA does their screening, once you clear TSA you take a train to your departure concourse. International flights, customs is in the B concourse area ... a secure area. Don't know why TSA has to screen you at that point ... doesn't correlate with what I remember when returning to CVG on inbound international flights.

If everyone did this do you know what the bureaucrats would do?

No idea.

No man's life, liberty or property are safe as long as Congress is in session.

I think the writer of this alleged experience is inventing things.

I agree with you. Until shown specifics otherwise, I suspect this is fiction to whet the imagination of the ill-informed.

Partway into post I realized these were different situations.

I usually have to go through a search upon entry into the US because I'm connecting to SeaTac. But when I return to SeaTac and am not connecting, I get to board that special car on the train from South Terminal that dumps you on the public side of the exit to baggage claim.

Actually a bit clever on someone's part -- I commend the unknown person for that courtesy.
