Democrats Digest Lessons of Election
American Thinker ^ | Henry Percy

Posted on 11/27/2010 5:03:10 AM PST by fuzzybutt

Our president's analysis of why he received a shellacking at the midterms put the blame squarely on us: He may have failed to communicate how wonderful his programs were, but we were too thick-witted to understand that he was leading us to nirvana. Now the Congressional Democrats are offering their own analyses:

Pelosi will lead Democrats "in pulling on the president's shirttails to make sure that he doesn't move from center-right to far-right," said Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., a co-chair of the liberal Progressive Caucus in the House. "We think if he'd done less compromising in the last two years, there's a good chance we'd have had a jobs bill that would have created real jobs, and then we wouldn't even be worrying about having lost elections."

I heard my gay liberal niece say the other day that the reason the Dems lost is because Obama had become a Republican lap dog by abandoning his liberal roots. WOW!

There they go claiming to be to the right when they are actually far left of communists.

Anyway I will believe the likes of Pelosi as soon as I see this:

For the likes of Rep. Higgins, politics is not the art of the possible but the purity of the ideology. And yet the press never tires of telling us that the Tea Partiers insisted on ideological purity in selecting candidates this year.
The biggest problem in America is the lack of a free and fair press. All other problems stem from that.

It is hoped that 2012 is worse than 2010 for Democrats and that their behavior and policies are recognized for the adolescent insanity that they are.

IMHO

This is great news. The Democrat party more firmly establishes itself as a leftist brand, which will be their launching pad in 2012.

It is a truism of politics that you regard your position on the political spectrum as where everybody who has any sense should be. That being said, I, as a conservative, know that I am on the RIGHT side of that spectrum (in all senses) but at the same time I do not become so delusional as to think I am at the center as this moon-howling idiot, Rep.Woolsey, appears to think that she is.

My rational brain suggests that this comes from a fund-raising letter to her fellow Progressive-asylum residents. Rep. Woolsey [CA 6th] herself represents the Marin and Sonoma counties north of San Francisco, an area that voted 70% for Kerry and 76% for Obama. I may never buy another California Wine.

Given that California appears to be a mostly lost cause for the present, I weep softly for OUR FReeper friends who must bear the burdens of this Gold-to-Iron_Pyrite State. Sanity appears to have become the real rare substance there!

The argument that we must forcibly advance is both crystal clear and truthful: that the American people *rejected* the Democrat party’s *platform*, their *philosophy*, their *schemes*, and their *conniving*.

The American people are *not* “stupid” or “ill-informed” or “lied to” about what the Democrats did and were trying to do. In fact, the American people saw through the lies and deceit that the Democrats were using, and revolted against the stupidity, the waste, the arrogance, the greed, the lust for control, and the bitter burning hate that the Democrats forced on them.

The American people did not reject Democrat “personalities”, either, though almost inherently, the major Democrat “personalities” reflected their worst qualities. So fixing blame on one or more Democrats, such as Obama, Pelosi, and Reed, is just another excuse to try and protect their ideas.

It was not about *them*. It was about their stupid and arrogant *ideas*. It was about trying to push through socialism, or economic national socialism, while at the same time lying about it, that even though in every particular it was socialist or national socialist, pretending that it didn’t deserve those labels.

And only a fanatic ideologue believes that socialism or economic national socialism works. Yet they cling to these moribund philosophies like they cling to Keynesian-ism, thinking that debts never need to be repaid, and that prosperity comes from overspending and overtaxing.

And underneath it all there are filthy undercurrents of big city machine gangsterism, self-proclaimed pseudo-intellectual hereditary elitism, an utter contempt for constitutionalism, democracy, and republican-democracy, and a sneering hatred of America and American and religious values.

What’s left that anyone could like about their ideas? They are as repugnant as the worship of Moloch or Tloloc. In many cases they are even staggeringly anti-human. They pray for the extinction of billions of people through “natural means”, and failing that, they lust to kill both the elderly and infant, precisely because they cannot defend themselves.

Truthfully, I was shocked and appalled when, during Obama’s candidacy, there was some of the usual stupid banter about him being “the Antichrist”. One of his supporters finally admitted that he thought it would be a good thing if Obama was actually the Antichrist, because it would mean he was powerful, and could force through what his followers wanted. And even more importantly, he could hurt their mutual enemies, smite them, and make them suffer terribly.

Say what? What does it say about a person that they would embrace “ultimate evil”, even theoretically, they are so wrapped up in their own hate, greed and lust? It takes hypothetical evil and makes it very real.

A person like that should not be allowed to vote, because voting is part of the social contract, and if a person renounces the social contract to embrace “ultimate evil”, by about any standard they should lose their membership in society, including the “right” to vote.

This, too, is part of the horrible disease that are the ideas of the Democrat party. We should not let them pretend otherwise, though they would cast their very souls into Hell to force their will on the rest of us.

Agreed. I have been somewhat amazed for many years that with the press bias the Dems haven't held 80% of all elected offices.

If this is the best they can do with the level of media propaganda they have behind them, makes one wonder what it would be like if we had reasonably fair press.

“This is great news. The Democrat party more firmly establishes itself as a leftist brand...”

EXACTLY. The single most frustrating thing politically for me is trying to convince people just who liberals are and where they want to bring the country. When I was in college several decades ago, I met them, I partied with them, and I read their publications. I KNEW THEM. I also saw that they were the ones moving to position themselves into the media (i.e., EVERY journalism major was a Reagan-hater), government, and then into elected office.

After finishing college, I would tell my (reasonable) co-workers who they are, and they would humor me: “Of course, Bob, that nice little school teacher over there is really a closet Commie. Those people opposing Bush-41 are Commies - they just don’t say so. We all know they are...we’re not fooled (...geeze, what does it take to shut this guy up and what is he on).”

Of course, by and large, they were Commies - at least during their college days - and still had that ideal buried in their hearts, hoping for a day to prove to the world that they were right after all.

Anyway, it wasn’t until I saw the shock on their faces when I showed some REAL pictures of the people protesting the first Gulf War in 1991, that I figured out I was wasting my time with them. They simply were UNABLE to believe it.

I remember hearing Tony Snow (i.e., one of us) say that he really didn’t believe Rush when it came to education (he said he thought it was for show). I had believed Rush from Day 1, because everything he said matched exactly what I had seen and read - so I expect conservative leaders who research this stuff, like Tony, to also at least believe Rush. ...but now that he (Tony) had kids in school, everything that Rush said was right - these schools are run by Socialists who could care less about actually teaching kids, and, in many cases, were more interested in PREVENTING kids from learning (in order to bring America down a few notches).

Like just about everyone else on this site, I wished that the country could figure this out without having to go through dealing with a raw government attempt of having these people try impose their dreams on us...but no luck there. To most of America, there was NO WAY that ANYONE born here could HATE this country and want to bring it down (...and I’ll skip the Obama birth certificate issue, as this applies to all liberals). But I READ their materials, I went to their TEACH-INs, where they literally planned their revolution. I was right in the middle of these people. So I knew what was coming.

The Republicans, on the other hand, did let me down, as many, if not most of them, could not figure this out until they were hit over the head by a 2 by 4 (like Tony Snow, or now the Tea Party).

It seems odd that a culture this hateful to American life can grow up right under our noses, but they managed to stay pretty much under the radar...getting their college degrees (when their parents would rationalize that it was just a ‘phase’ they were going through), getting into government (but only at low levels), and then getting their goals implemented no matter who ran things, even during the 4 years that White House and Congress were owned by Republicans. Because no one (or really simply not enough people) on our side (who counted) understood the enemy. My co-workers knew about the Gulf War protest from the news, but the reason they were SHOCKED by my pictures (in one case, a guy carrying a giant Soviet flag) was that they assumed it was just a bunch of normal Americans who didn’t want us fighting over there...

There are even numerous examples of where these people actually wanted to end the society in which they lived. For example, in the 1980s they wanted a nuclear freeze to literally lock in a HUGE ADVANTAGE in Soviet power...that they knew would eventually work their way into the completion of world dominance. They actively supported the Commies in Central America, hoping to push revolution right into Mexico, and forcing us to bring home our troops from around the world (to defend our border from top of the line Soviet hardware), and make us into a withering has-been superpower, like Britain. They couldn’t see anything wrong with sending engineers to China to show them how to properly design multi-stage rockets. They have no problem with open borders...and could care less that a militant Hispanic sub-culture flourishes in many parts of the country. They are actively bringing in Muslims into Europe to dilute Western Culture and I guess eventually overthrow their Western Culture (no other outcome other than civil war is possible) - and then pass hate laws so that they can throw opponents of this policy into jail. They have ALWAYS considered the US Military as the biggest threat to world peace and could care less about other countries - they don’t even think that China has a military and could care less about their pace of modernization (i.e., they seem much more interested in getting rid of our nukes via the START Treaty, than saving them to oppose China). They look at the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as something to tap for votes, since the stated need for the reserve (i.e., a way to keep this country alive if all hell breaks loose in the world) is not rational, since the ONLY threat to world peace is our own weapons, and they are dealing with neutralizing those weapons.

They knew “green jobs” are a joke but continue to push them on people that cannot take the time to also figure out what a joke they are - that for every windmill job, for example, something like 5 real jobs are lost to higher energy bills (i.e., these people are not stupid, they are very, very, intelligent - you can tell by reading their publications, they know exactly what “green jobs” will do the economy - which is why they push it instead of nukes).

And now they seem to be intentionally driving this country into the ground economically - they know our debt will lead to a full-scale collapse of our economy, once China pulls the plug - but since nothing else has worked, that’s fine.

Ok, that’s it for this morning - now on to America’s real problems: Did you hear that someone called Bristol a prostitute? Can you believe it?

Many very salient points!

I also read the American voter and American cultural philosophy in general as being too tolerant of wildly diverse subversive positions, which are too often obviously destructive. We only react to refute or protect against outright destruction when and after being undoubtedly damaged, i.e. the liberal progressives (Wilson, FDR and Nobama), Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, as examples.
