Three more bills met Gov. Ed Rendell's veto pen, including one that would have expanded a person's self-defense rights to use deadly force in certain circumstances outside their home or car. The self-defense bill would have expanded Pennsylvania's so-called "Castle Doctrine" and offered immunity against civil lawsuits in certain cases.

What is wrong with the people of PA? I lived in Philly for 10 years and had gradually been voting for more conservatives and libertarians, but hadn’t changed my registration from Dim.
Well, ole Ed Rendell, who made some nasty remarks about there being no minorities at the national convention (which wasn’t true) made me so angry I finally got off my rear and changed my registration to the GOP. How does this guy still hold an elected office in PA?

We have a new Governor in Jan. This is Rendell’s parting shot to screw with the law abiding.
I live in Crawford County and we all don’t have to worry about Ed Spendell anymore. It’s called term limits.
Ed Spendell, though, is not done. With his veto today and his history, he’ll be a perfect commentator on MSNBC. My prediction is that he will go for DNC Chairman (again) Or maybe a FOXNEWS anal ist, which he already is. But full time. GOD help us all. Yes, we still cling to our religion and our guns. Might yet be the savior to OUR REPUBLIC.

Fast Eddie is out in January, with Republican Tom Corbett assuming the governor’s office after winning the election. The legislature will pass this again rather quickly and Corbett will sign it. This was Rendell’s last gasp!
Keep up with the news, they did vote him out but the Republican doesn't take over until Jan.
So with a GOP governor coming in and a GOP legislature.Could this law be brought back next year and perhaps a different result?

I think the recent House elections mean that people have had enough of this liberal crap and are getting serious about taking their country back - from Obama and his fellow socialists and America haters.

This passed by a large enough margin to override Fast Eddie’s veto. So regardless, his veto is irrelevant.
