Don’t interrupt.

Never honk at old people on the road, even when you’re in the right.

Excellent, hubby use to do that for me, we were married 33 years before he passed and some of those years were also excellent...we slow danced in the living room for all of our marriage if the music was right..he loved a back massage not a foot massage..

Once you learn to fake sincerity, you’ve got it made.

I once said something to a girl which must have been just what she wanted to hear. We were both working at a Summer retreat and lived next to each other.

First of all, she was probably the most attractive girl I have ever known. By attractive, I mean she attracted boys. She was very pretty but I have seen lots of girls who were prettier.

Watching her I was fascinated. I would wonder what is it she does? How does she attract them? One day I drove her to get some things as her car was giving trouble. I was a bit attracted to her myself but my wife had died not long before and I was also a lot older than her so I wasn’t even thinking of a relationship.

I was kidding her about something and not meaning too, insulted her. This made her mad and she showed it.

I looked at her and said something like. “Actually you attract boys like bees to honey. I don’t know what it is or how to define it but whatever it is, you have it”

From then on we were best friends. That fact that I was being both honest and accurate may have been one of the reasons she seemed to like the comment.

A nice piece of light hearted posting here. Something to brighten a dark winter's evening. I called over my liberal/socialist spouse to view the ten points. She absolutely agreed with these points. I did not dare ask her how she agreed to come to Canada with me.

Now the local public library sold baseball caps with the local library name on the front. Alas, the cap has become dilapidated. In it's condition it fits even better. I cannot stand to wear the Englishman's flat cap and will not- it was a present from her.

I still wear it, but some sort of new headgear is in the offing. She winces every time she goes out with me. Sometimes ya just can't win!

Hi, Tax-Chick! It's been a while since we talked. Hope all is good with you.

Where I grew up, it was "cool" to be "edgy." Bend the rules, so to speak.

No destructive stuff, but breaking curfew, flaunting the rules, the "rebel without a clue". He was good to have around to help me break out from under my parent's thumbs (they were extremely protective).

What ultimately ended our relationship was that I was a conservative at heart, and he was fast becoming a progressive. I grew up and returned to my core; he went down the moonbat path.

Then I found a rock solid conservative man to share my life and have been truly happy ever since.

“I have to disagree with you there. If you want something more then a short term relationship you should be her friend. You just shouldn’t be her “girl friend”. She has female friends for that (and if she doesn’t that is a major warning sign.)

But friend yes.”

That’s pretty much what I meant, not being her girlfriend. Friendship can grow from dating, but your approach should be romantic, not friends. It’s a different mindset.

There’s that term, the dreaded “friends zone”. That’s what I’m talking about.

Women don’t know what they want...this list is useless.

The only thing they always like is shopping.

probably not. (Laz is a cool guy but his MO is more of a turn off to gals, humorous but not a draw.}

Your thoughts make me smile, because a man who makes it known that he has money and an expensive car would have to work harder to impress me than one without those things because they don't impress me. Some men are looking in the wrong places for the type of woman they say they want. By the way, the heart is what impresses me. It says more than all that money and car ever could. Yes, men can have both, wealth and heart, but they would have to convince me of it.

Thank you for that. I’ve shared it with my daughters who are both a bit disillusioned right now about ever finding “the one”.
