Joe Scarborough: GOP should take on Palin (Elite's stalking horse brays at Gov. Palin)
The Politico ^ | November 30, 2010 | Former Rep. Joe Scarborough (RINO-MSNBC)

Posted on 11/30/2010 10:05:33 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Republicans have a problem. The most-talked-about figure in the GOP is a reality show star who cannot be elected. And yet the same leaders who fret that Sarah Palin could devastate their party in 2012 are too scared to say in public what they all complain about in private.

Enough. It’s time for the GOP to man up.

Everybody knows that Palin is a busy woman. The former half-term governor of Alaska stays so busy these days that one wonders how this mother of five manages to juggle her new reality show, follow her eldest daughter’s dancing career and launch her latest frenetic book tour while still finding the time to insult a slew of revered presidents and first ladies.

You’ve got to admit hers is a breathtaking high-wire act.

What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s, despite the fact that the 44th president breezed into the Oval Office as little more than a glorified state senator.

Still, Palin is undeterred, charging ahead maniacally while declaring her intention to run for the top office in the land if “nobody else will.” Adding audacity to this dopey dream is that Palin can’t stop herself from taking swings at Republican giants. In the past month alone, she has mocked Ronald Reagan’s credentials, dismissed George H.W. and Barbara Bush as arrogant “blue bloods” and blamed George W. Bush for wrecking the economy.

Wow. That’ll win ’em over in Iowa.

One can only guess what comes next on Palin’s bizarre road show. Maybe the publishing world’s favorite reality star can keep drawing attention and selling billions of books by spitting on John Wayne’s grave...

You've been around Keith and Rachel too long, Joe. BTW, remind us again why you had to resign from Congress...

Brak Obama was a reality tv show star too. Star of The Obama Show.

That damn tv program is still on every network all the time.

Ignore Joe. He isn’t worth getting worked up over or even listening to for that matter.

I suppose Joe prefers a resume that involves running a state into near bankruptcy by signing into law a horrible Health Care plan not significantly unlike Obama’s.

So take on Sarah and divide your base after the biggest GOP win in 70 years?

Joe - I’m hardly a slavering Palin sycophant, but honestly, is that all you could muster?

"Republicans have a problem. "

Really, Joe? I think it's Democrats and the Pukes of the Press who have the problem.

Her name is 'Cuda.

Does he really think what he has written here passes for thoughtful political analysis? Sounds more like a cat fight. His use of the phrase Man Up is laughable, since I suspect he hardly knows what the phrase means. And this comes from someone who is not sure she wants Sarah Palin to run. But I AM sure that Joe is not anyone whose opinion I value.

Why would any politician want or need to criticize the non-candidate Sarah Palin?

At this point (as a non-candidate) she is a lot more of an asset than a liability.

Sarah Palin could devastate their party in 2012 - That would be good.

Joe is a scumbag. He should tear up his GOP card right now. Why would the GOP take on their biggest motivator of their base?

. . . one wonders how this mother of five manages to juggle her new reality show, follow her eldest daughter’s dancing career and launch her latest frenetic book tour . . .

Actually, I don't. Some people are super organized and know how to delegate. They have loyal and trustworthy people who work for them and with them.

I watched the TLC Show and noticed Sarah keep busy with her laptop while Todd was driving. The older children look after the younger children and call on Mom or Dad only when there is something they can't handle.

It is called motivation and self-government. There is also a healthy supply of familial love thrown in for good measure.

The same principles which work on a micro family level can and do also work well in a larger organization, be it a church, business, community or a nation.

The sheer volume of stuff being written about Palin tells its own story. All you have to do is include her name in the title of your piece to generate traffic.

They should pay her a royalty if they are going to make their living off her name.

Your parenthetical addition to the original headline is incorrect.

Horses don’t bray. Jackasses do.

Tokyo Joe is an elitist, ruling class, establishment jackass - so it’s partly right. :)
