We use Everclear 190 proof as part of a mixture to clean oil paintings. Would never drink it after seeing what it can do to varnish and paint.

Its like watching the anti smokers all over again.. seriously.

Little by little they are going after booze, tiny little increments, and then in a few years they will ban something else.

Trust me, the war on booze is going to make the war on tobacco look like a walk in the park, Thankfully while I do enjoy a occasional smoke, I do not drink.. lol

yah...it’s illegal to sell Everclear in Washington too, but that means I just drive across the river, buy it in Oregon and save the markup and the Sales Tax to boot.

On a comparable brand of call whiskey, same size (1/2 gallon) the price difference (and my savings) is about $9 a jug.

Sadly, it’s our side (politically) who is usually behind these silly things.

Seriously folks, crap like this makes it really hard to take us seriously on tax policy.

We *have* to start letting some of this nanny-state crap go.

I’ve come upon stills in the hills.

So, the stores won’t sell the nearly 100% stuff. Yeah? So?

Everclear isn’t a drink, it’s a lab quality solvent.

This pretty much takes our state out of the running for the Darwin Awards. Now it’s up to Florida.

Stupid bureaucrats. The kids will just drive out of town to buy the 190 proof and get stoned there!

What y’all need there is some moonshine to liven things up!

I use grain alcohol in my cake decorating. It turns powdered colors into a paint I can use on fondant, which then dries completely leaving no flavor behind.

I am so tired of nannies thinking I am Homer Simpson.

Either move the colleges or move the store. Problem solved.

Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissions are hold overs from Prohibition. Iowa had a similar state run liquor monopoly when I lived there and had in their state run stores a poster proclaiming the "doublethink" that Iowas was 37th in liquor consumption, but 17th in state revenues from liquor sales. In the twisted logic of the liquor monopoly they were successful because they didn't want people to to easily drink, but maximize revenue from liquor sales. The political cartoonist from the Des Moines Register lampooned the liquor monopoly by depicting Carrie Nation as a clerk in an Iowa state liquor store telling a customer that their purchase would be $17.47 and ..May God have mercy on your soul.
