…….. was very lively indeed, at the Front Gate.

Following is a summary of the evening as reported by Mrs Trooprally.

The best thing about being at Walter Reed is knowing that the Troops like us being there. Tonight a few soldiers came out and thanked us. Then they talked with VictoryNY, whose enthusiasm is like a magnet.

TammyCat and VictoryNY did their hoops and hollers and maintained a high energy level which kept the evening very lively.

Tonight was pretty cold and Bill’s generator went on the fritz. So NO HEAT !!!! Mrs T used hand warmers so her fingers would not get any number than they already were.

But the cold didn’t keep attendance down, and between talking to wounded warriors, taking honks and waves from cars, and getting renewed energy from TammyCat and VictoryNY, it was a great time to be with the soldiers. Buses took the wounded warriors and their families to three different destinations: 1) a theater with Blue Star Mothers, 2) to a sports arena and 3) to a DC restaurant.

Mrs T. ended her report with the following comment:

“We did get a lot of waves and honks from the soldiers leaving the gate. Yes, I know we are all cold and tired, but it is the feeling you get when the troops are smiling and waving and thanking you for standing there for them.

We are on the downhill slide for Walter Reed’s closing (3rd Qtr 2011). We hope that some more freepers will join us before the gates close a final time.”

• RonGKirby and 2ndHandRose talked to a moonbat for about 20 minutes. Both said that he just talked in circles, with 2nd Hand adding that he seemed batty. It’s agreed that they talk in circles because they don’t have answers to issues.

• 5 moonbats tonight, with 3 of the 5 showing up right before 9, and leave promptly at 9pm.

It looks pretty chilly out there.

Great late night AAR. Thanks for staying up.

This Friday will be warmer, in the mid-40s. No pizza and cold drinks either. When the temps start getting into the low 60s we start bring hot drinks and hand/foot warmers.

And that is cigar smoke coming from BufordP, not cold breathe.
