Charles Krauthammer Tells Bill O’Reilly Sarah Palin Must Expand Policy Knowledge
Mediaite ^ | 12/14/10 | Glen Davis

Bill O’Reilly recently talked with frequent Fox News guest Charles Krauthammer to handicap potential GOP candidates’ chances in the 2012 presidential election. Krauthammer called Mitt Romney the front-runner” and said Mike Huckabee has established himself as a “major player”…but his most dissected comments will probably be his remarks on one Sarah Palin.

Krauthammer compared Palin’s problem to Hillary Clinton’s in the late 1990s – strong support from her core base, virulent opposition from most others. O’Reilly asked if the level of opposition to Palin is the media’s fault, and while Krauthammer said they’ve “contributed enormously” and that “the animus to her is unprecedented,” he also allowed that “she is not practiced in policy” and that the infamous Katie Couric interview was “not a ‘gotcha’ interview.” According to Krauthammer, Palin’s growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate:

“I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.”

Wonks come off knowledgeable. Sarah doesn’t always do so, and I LOVE Sarah. If she has no room for growth in your or anyone else’s eyes, you have another self-proclaimed Messiah, not a leader.

Sounds like Krauthammer wants to help Sarah like he helped Christine. Chuck's always trying to help.

I wonder if he's being paid to help Mitt or if he's a volunteer.

Thats simply not true.

you need to read her new book. you also need to study her position on energy policy. and stop sounding like the enemy.

To whom was O’Donnell an embarassment? To Mike Castle, he of recent “No Labels” fame?

Looks like she was right on the issues. And guess who now supports keeping the Bush tax rates. Oh yeah—Chris Coons,Harry Reid’s little pet.

O’Donnell was not an embarrassment to me.
Not to real Republicansand real conservatives in Delaware.

Joe Biden—now THAT’s a real embarrassment.

Doesn’t Krauthammer know that Palin is not to be criticized under any circumstance. How dare he!

Apparently Charlie hasn’t read any of Palin’s Op-ed pieces she has done in the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post

Since when is anyone required to be informed before criticizing Palin?

“Whatever Sarah does, she better not get sucked into neo-conservativeland on foreign policy. That will kill all respect I have for her.”

If anyone is a neocon, it's Krathammer. He's a hawk to support Israel and squishy to liberal on social issues. He's definitely not a conservative.

"We have had enough of the RINOS and the DC insiders and panderers."

Well said.

Sarah has a track record of hiring smart people to be around her. She could hire a policy wonk.

While I listen to Charles, sometimes the ivy is crawling up his leg.

You asked what poll. I replied to your question.

The point is that Romney is considered a front-runner at this time, largely because he’s got a bigger war chest than any other candidate. That does not mean he will prevail.

In fact, in 2008 Romney couldn’t seem to buy a vote. Literally. However, the sad reality is that it takes a lot of money to run for major office these days.

I have no doubt that, when and if the time comes, Palin will be a formidable fundraiser.

She needs to present her policy ideas, like all other candidates and if I agree with her she gets my vote. Simple. But, I don’t think that she will run.

Plus Bolton’s got a really bad mustache. People with bad facial hair (Bork, Joe Miller) tend not to get far in politics.

Well, she’s sure no John Bolton when it comes to foreign policy that’s for sure.

I like John Bolton...but he is no Sarah Palin when it comes to charisma...and like it or not, it takes some charisma to be elected POTUS.

Charisma is more important than knowledge...Obama proves it. The average voter isn't smart enough to know or care what a candidate knows. Dumb people think everybody is as dumb as they are, or, that they are as smart as smart people.
