Many of us made our disgust known to Omaha Steaks for their clear political agenda driven decision to pull their advertising from Glenn Beck's show.
They initially sent several of us an email defending their decision and NOW they've sent a new email from the president, essentially saying, 'no, no, no'.....that's not what we really meant.
I guess they've really felt the heat from us! Below is the new email...
Also, great storage boxes for records. Very rigid, but light.
Funny you should mention that.....I just bought a package of Costco’s Prime Rib-Eye.....almost as marbled as Kobe and just about as tender, have had one split between the two of us, it was delicious.....Costco sells Choice but on occasion they have Prime. Costco beef, pork, chicken, and fish are all above average in my view and I love to cook as well as eat! Doing one of their standing Ribs in lieu of turkey this Christmas.
With grocery store prices on meat going up, we've been getting a lot of stuff from either Aldi or Costco. The local meat markets are looking better as prices shift as well.
“Omaha Steaks”
Those thin steaks they sell at Waffle House?
I only buy Prime+ from the local butcher.
Yes, their Choice Ribeye steaks and roasts are excellent.
They have Prime but I prepare the Choice, grill them and they are very tender and flavorful.

There is absolutely no comparison. You have probably never had the opportunity to experience what I am describing I'm sure, but if you ever do, you will have difficulty buying mass produced beef ever again.
I buy the Costco tenderloin’s also to cut into steaks and as you say they are very tender. Once I feel the loin has ‘dry aged’ in the refrigerator, about a week, I cut it into steaks and freeze them individually in air tight packages....sometimes I make a ‘too-die-for’(imho)...Bordelaise Sauce...which we just love. Costco tenderloin is an excellent buy, no waste!
I've purchased their steaks in the past when I was working and while they were expensive, they were good. Unfortunately due to my financial status, luxuries such as mail order steaks are no longer on my list of must haves. However, I have a small present of steaks sent to me by my aunt that have been sitting in my freezer.
While I may boycott some manufacturer or establishment due to crappy merchandise or poor service, it won't be due to their advertising choices and I crtainly won't go out of my way to bring them down to my way of thinking via the internet or any other such means. They have the right to advertise wherever they want and I'm not about to make my personal shopping choices determined by someone else's alleged political preferences...........
Sounds to me like too many folks are getting too wired up in politics. Relax and enjoy life.............
They give you the knife set so you can cut your throat after eating their overpriced and not so great steaks!
LOL!
Try getting to know a local farmer, if you are able. Several of us here have been advocating direct purchase from the farmer and having it custom butchered.
Buy the whole cow and split halves with someone else. You can buy it this way for less than $1.50 per pound live wt. After it is cut and wrapped, you will pay around $2.50 per pound total cost.
All you need is a medium sized freezer to hold it. We buy a half beef once a year and we buy it when the price is the lowest. (usually during the fall when most farmers cut their herd size.)
Our veterinary clinic gets gift boxes of nuts from Omaha Steak. Most veterinarians are conservatives.

Probably not worth the money.
Au contraire 'Mon ami'.........I grew up in the country where most things were fresh.....our fresh beef out here on the desert is a bit disappointing plus the fact our family is down to two people easy to please.....we do have a green garden and lovely chickens, peacocks, and Percy and Buttercup our resident turkeys all providing lovely eggs every day, some are of course seasonal. Life is good..........would be better without the fraud in our D.C. house *~*
Yup. Unfortunately, they are too dull to cut my throat.
We still have them and I get them out from time to time when I need a good laugh.
What a waste of natural resources — cheap plastic and low grade metal.
The following is the letter they sent me LAST NIGHT.
Dear friend,
We felt that advertising on the Glenn Beck Program could be
mis-interpreted as an endorsement of Mr. Beck’s political views. Since
Omaha Steaks has no affiliation with Mr. Beck, nor do we ever endorse any
political affiliations, views or beliefs, we felt it was in our best
interest to discontinue these ads.
Sincerely,
Julie Davis

You know what I told em !!!
They apparently lie, too. Here’s and extract of the email they sent to STOPBECK.com (which can be seen at that site):
“We took your comments regarding the Glenn Beck Program to heart. After further review and careful consideration, we have decided to pull all advertising from Glenn Beck programming effective December 20th, 2010.
At Omaha, we greatly value the loyalty and support of our customers, fans and followers and thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.”
