WASHINGTON -- In a landmark vote, the Senate on Saturday ended the Clinton-era ban on gays serving openly in the military, marking a major triumph for President Obama, liberals and the gay community.
The final vote to end the Pentagon's 1993 "don't ask, don't tell" policy was 65-31, drawing support from eight Republicans.
The bill now goes to the White House for Obama's signature. He is expected to sign the bill into law next week, a senior White House aide told Fox News.

On reflection, this does not really surprise me but it is one of the saddest days in my memory.
The country has become Politically Correct with diversity and affirmative action ruling the day.
I am one of those older conservatives who has witnessed a decline in our morals and honesty.
There was a time when Hollywood was run by conservatives and movies like the Greatest Story Ever Told were made and “shown” on television.
There was a day when our children, myself included, conducted a daily, morning prayer in school.
There was a day when Generals like George Patton were revered and honored.
Now, I’m told the old ways of family, God, Chivalry and manhood are relics of the past.
I’m afraid the once great U.S. military has become a home to political correctness, affirmative action and weakness.
May God help us...

It is really something. Even the Germans did not vote Hitler into office (though he was later confirmed by a plebiscite afterward). Even the Bolsheviks did not win election when the Bolsheviks held an election in the early 1920s, but we elect an enemy of America gifted with utter incompetence here.
An election is not an audience vote on "American Idol." I hope Americans will learn that sometime.
But the psychological effect on our Troops and their morale is immediate. That is the intention of those hellbent on this evil inflicted upon them.
As I’ve been saying for a long time. It’s time for the military to bunk everyone together. Male, female, gay or straight. If everyone in the military is the color of olive green, navy or sky blue, everyone in the military can be genderless.

Once you go down this road, short of a Ninevah-type repentance, there is no turning back.

Allow any Tom, Dick, Harry, or Jane to vote and low life like Obama you get as president...Restrict the franchise to property owners and military veterans and giants like George Washington you get as president.
This is a REPUBLIC not a democracy - no one has a right to vote. The right to vote must be earned by either hard work or service to the REPUBLIC.

For the troops that like bestially we will have new barn’s erected on all military bases for all the little critters to be housed in.
There will also be motel’s for the use of prostitute’s as the lady of the night need not to be out on the street’s .
There will play ground’s and parks for the pedophile’s to indulge their pleasures on the children In and around our bases,
Let’s not forget those troops that like there mother , sisters , brothers , we need special places for this incest.
For those in the navy ,we will have the same thing for them on a new fleet of ship’s called the love boats.
