It bears repeating, the goal of the LEFT is to weaken and destroy the combat effectiveness of America's military.

I wonder if it isn't to drive conservatives out of the military, out of society, out of politics, and underground -- and to give a future Alinskyite President the vetted military he would need, to turn their guns on Americans for being Americans.

At issue is a pending vote in the Senate on repealing Section 654 of Title X of the U.S. Code. This law, on the books since 1993, states: "The presence in the armed forces of persons who demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability."

Repeal of the law as noted above does not repeal the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

The UCMJ was passed by Congress on 5 May 1950, signed into law by President Harry S. Truman, and became effective on 31 May 1951.

Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice:

“(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient
to complete the offense.

(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall by punished as a court-martial may direct.”

The oath taken by every president on first entering office is specified in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

US Constitution

Section. 8.

Clause 14:
[ The Congress shall have Power] To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

Note that Congress has prohibited sodomy in the military through the UCMJ. All of the hoopla concerning the 1993 law is just that. Commanders, including the “Commander-in-Chief,” are obligated by their sacred oaths to enforce the rules and regulations made and promulgated by Congress for the US military.

What remains to be seen is whether the current “Commander-in-Chief” will adhere to his oath and require subordinate officers to do the same.

The LEFT's goals are quite clear as it says in the article;

QUOTE And, perhaps most telling, nearly one-third of all those who are now part of the best-educated, best-trained, and most-combat-experienced military in history will consider "getting out" rather than serve side by side with openly homosexual men or lesbians. UNQUOTE

Its interesting that WABC 770 AM radio in NYC is adding to their news blurb at the top and bottom of each hour voice clips from those currently serving overseas in war theaters, that its no big deal.

The fact that WABC has to include this fabrication twice per hour to assure the audience its no big deal, speaks volumes. I suspect other ABC affiliate radio stations around the country and perhaps internationally are issuing the same talking points with their broadcast.

If the pervs have their way, and the open queers start showing up in boot camp, the DIs will mock them by accusing them of being STRAIGHT:

DI: Do you hump girls, maggot?

Recruit: Sir, NO, SIR!

DI: BULLSH#T!! I bet you humped so many vixens your piece is worn down to a nub!!!

Recruit: (Near tears) SIR, NO, SIR!!!

Correct.

Cheaper to vote the bachelor’s children out. Then cut out the lifetime salaries.

Agree, but I think that the President is the CINC of all the armed forces, according to the Constitution.

That means that POTUS Palin or whoever is elected next will rescind this.

This is just a last gasp of the left before they die.

It will all be reversed.

What we will have is a de facto re-segregation of the military along sexual lines, especially when off duty. Military unit effectiveness will disappear.

I wish I could as optimistic - but this might be a case of “once the genie is out of the bottle...”

Clearly, the POTUS is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. However, one of the enumerated powers of the Congress is: To make rules for the government and regulation of the land and naval forces. That is why they have the authority to pass this change in the first place. It will be reflected after a while in changes to that portion of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) that covers sodomy.

Don’t get me wrong - I dearly hope this gets reversed as you say.

The point of this movement is to destroy the moral fiber of the military. The only thing that will prevent a military officer or enlisted troop from obeying an illegal or unconstitutional order is the moral foundation that would cause that person to say “No!” to an order to violate the rights of a US citizen.

The purpose is not “pro-gay.” The purose of this legislation is to increase the ease with which the US military may be used against American citizens in the future.
