I was driving in back of a Mazda Z years ago on black ice. How we didn’t crash is a mystery, as the RWD just spun the guy down I-5 like a slinky.

It was black ice, and man, that stuff is way beyond snow plows.

Stay toasty!

I've been watching the snow front creep down the state. Kinda neat to watch here. Purple=snow.

That’s too much.

The global warming alarmists have been saying global warming is causing global freezing. It’s a win-win for them, so they hope.

This is the first white Christmas in history for Columbia.

I looked up “global warming” in the dictionary, and one of the synonyms is “ice age”.

"The democrat sheep still believe the liberal media lies about global warming."

Yes. They're Global-Warming-Hoax Deniers.

I’m in Matthews (just south of Charlotte). We’ve got maybe an inch on the grass.

Indian Trail. I just looked out the back door, and we have a bit of accumulation on the grill cover and the picnic table.

In 1969 we left Roanoke Christmas morning to go to my grandparents at Smith Mountain Lake. It snowed about 18” by the end of the day. It was 4 days before we finally got home due to the snow drifts.

I remember as a kid growing up in the 70s and early 80s living just south of Charlotte in SC when there was any snow, all the local news channels would be prophets of doom until it melted, usually within 2 days. Of course all of the bread and milk had to be bought out as well. That was usually a good part of the coverage.

The emergency shopping is a major joke in the NC Forum every time Winter Weather is predicted. “How many loaves of gread do you have? How many gallons of milk?”

Wow!! That must have been enough for a White Christmas, AND a white month of January. That’s a bunch of snow for the Roanoke area. They usually get a bit less than we do, due to the difference in elevation.

As a matter of fact, I’ve always heard my father, grandfather, uncle, and other folks who were around talk about that Winter of 1969. Wasn’t that the one where it snowed at least 1 foot every week for nearly 6 weeks, with the temperature rarely getting above freezing? My uncle said that the snow was over 10 feet high in places, and they had literal tunnels going through the snow in the yard so they could get around. The snow drifts were over the roofs of many homes.

When I originally posted, I neglected to mention that I’m only in my 30s, so others may have a larger historical reference than I do. I’m glad my children were able to experience this White Christmas. Being so rare, I’m sure they will always remember it.

I’m just South of Charlotte across the NC/SC line. Some things never chamge.

When there is even a dusting of snow in the Charlotte area, the correct answer to both questions is however much one can afford.

This is the first white Christmas in history for Columbia.

That is just "natural weather variation"; a record hot July 4th is "Destructive Anthropogenic Climate Change".

The sky is falling! THE SKY IS FALLING!
