No FDR was not a “leftist”. Not as we know it today. FDR loved his country (unlike the left) and honestly thought New Deal programs would solve legitimate problems the country had. Indeed in the short term they did. Long term they were a disaster made far, far worse by LBJ’s Great Society. Hindsight is 20/20 though and I’m not going to call FDR a leftist. Reagan, when he was president, called FDR the greatest president of his lifetime. Don’t like it? Take it up with President Reagan.
Palin’s response to Gwen Ifill’s question on carbon caps in the VP debate is more indicative of Palin’s flip flop on cap and tax than the quotes in the article cited here.
Palin was for carbon caps before she was against them.

What Palin said is not enough to convict her of globalwarmingism. To do that, you’d need a lot more than a single ambiguous statement. And some policy evidence.

Like all other living things on this earth, we have an impact on our environment just by being here, stone-age or industrial. Third-world people live in their own mess. First-world people clean up after themselves.
