Pundits have been speculating regarding the plans of my favorite Congressman, Mike Pence, after he won the straw poll for President at the Values Voter conference a few months ago and when he resigned as the Chairman of the Republican Conference late last year -citing plans that would detract from his being able to fulfill the duties of that leadership position.
Late last year, he told inquiring minds that he would be making his decision regarding his plans early this year. But now the signs are indicating that he intends to run for the governor's office opening up in Indiana when the term-limited Mitch Daniels steps down in 2012

Interesting observations here. I’m not surprised at all, congresscritters don’t jump to the presidency, and he seems smart enough to know it.

I don't care who runs as long as they've got their head right about the Constitution.
We can't afford to invest in the personalities of individual politicians this time.

Good move for Pence - get that vital executive experience at the governor level - he’s only 51 so he has plenty of time to serve a term or two before running for president.

I think Pence will be a success in whatever he does. If he’s going to forego a Presidential run in favor of the Governorship, I say godspeed. He’ll be back.

Rep. Pence made the right decision. Only one president was elected while he was a congressman, James Garfield. Two of the last three republican presidents were governors. Pence can be elected governor in 2012 and ‘16, and he might be elected president, in 2020 or ‘24. He was born in June 1959, so, in Nov. 2024, he’ll be 65.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Pence support the Ethanol industry?
Support for Ethanol is a fatal policy position and is validation for the Global Warming scam.

I’m glad that you don’t care, but the reality is that a lot of people even here only look at stopping a particular someone while they can’t defend these others who are less “constitutional” as you would want
To: Lakeshark
There is some much lower hanging fruit for Pence in '12.
This fossil needs to go.

I agree that Sen. Lugar should retire, in 2012. If Gov. Daniels doesn’t run for president, he should run for Lugar’s seat.
To: Lakeshark
I’d like to see him run against Lugar in the primary..

Support for ethanol is validation that said supporter is from a corn growing state. These candidates are men and women, not angels walking the earth.

"Support for ethanol is validation that said supporter is from a corn growing state." Translation: Finger in the wind politics is OK.
Does he still support the Global Warming Scam? If not, where is his admission of being duped?
