Signs point to Mike Pence bowing out of presidential race to run for governor
The American Thinker ^ | 15/11 | Ed Lasky

Pundits have been speculating regarding the plans of my favorite Congressman, Mike Pence, after he won the straw poll for President at the Values Voter conference a few months ago and when he resigned as the Chairman of the Republican Conference late last year -citing plans that would detract from his being able to fulfill the duties of that leadership position.

Late last year, he told inquiring minds that he would be making his decision regarding his plans early this year. But now the signs are indicating that he intends to run for the governor's office opening up in Indiana when the term-limited Mitch Daniels steps down in 2012

Does he still support the Global Warming Scam?

Below is a link to a liberal site that proclaims that Pence doesn't believe in global warming. The actual quotation does give him wiggle room ("the science is very mixed") but I believe that was before the East Anglia debacle.

Do note that some folks who support ethanol do so because they believe that it lessens U.S. dependence on foreign oil, not because of global warming. Others have been lobbied successfully that ethanol is essential to the state's economy. Even Jesse Helms supported tobacco subsidies. Crop subsidies are not the hill that these conservatives want to die on.

We can't afford to invest in the personalities of individual politicians this time.

Worth repeating and repeating and...................

FWIW, Erickson at RedState is deeply saddened, too.

It’s really disgusting to me, that pundits and others seem to think that they can pick candidates to run, when one of the most important criteria has to be the candidate’s own *fire-in-the-belly* to run!

I give you the almost dragged and drafted Fred Thompson in ‘08 as the sterling example.

Probably won’t be too many Senators doing it either after the disaster we have now.

Support for Ethanol is a fatal policy position

Sadly, it's not.

He never entered. It is hard to bow out from something you never entered. I will be happy if Pence goes for Governor. He would be a shoo in.

Though I hate the ethanol scam, there’s nothing about being pro-ethanol that requires one to be an AGW believer. Diversity of energy sources is a good idea in itself, and if ethanol was all that its supporters claim, I’d be an rnthusiastic supporter, too, though I would still oppose subsidies.

I stand corrected...thanks.

I think way back to Jimmy Carter when he advocated such before the Global Warming scam started.
