Covering up an Arab Trade in Black Slaves (This happens Today!!)

Friends of Israel have long fumed over what they felt was the human rights community's disproportionate and unfair criticism of the Jewish state: Major rights organizations typically portray Israel as among the cruelest of nations, while this planet's actual dictatorships and tyrannies get wrist slaps. HRW's treatment of Mauritania's black slaves cinches our case. The Islamic Republic of Mauritania has more slaves per capita than any other nation on Earth. It abolished slavery in 1905, 1961 and 1980; the country criminalized it in 2007, but the UN, the US State Department, and Amnesty International report that slavery continues.

According to UN reports - confirmed by our Mauritanian abolitionist allies - slaves in Mauritania are the wholly owned property of masters, passed on through their estates, like furniture or cattle. Slave girls are given as wedding gifts.

You might think black slaves would be a top priority for an American rights champion. But there's a problem. While the slaves are African, their masters are not white Europeans; they are Arab-Berber Muslims.

HRW knows all this but won't tell anybody. Its reports have mentioned slavery in Mauritania only four times since 1994. Why? Because there is no political gain, no expiation, no dollars - or dinars.

Ping! As Islam spreads, so will human bondage and suffering.

Everyone knows that slavery continues in the Arab/Muslim world and that indeed official laws against slavery, however meaningless, are themselves quite a recent development:

1952 Qatar abolishes slavery; 1960 Niger abolishes slavery; 1962 Saudi Arabia abolishes slavery; 1962 Yemen abolishes slavery; 1963 United Arab Emirates abolishes slavery; 1970 Oman abolishes slavery; 1981 Mauritania abolishes slavery

Makes very sad reading. The world is in a very bad way when humans are treated worse than animals and those who proclaim themselves as watchers for injustice themselves are worse by their indifference.

Yes the slave trade is alive a well in several Muslim countries. I myself have financed the purchase of several black slaves via a little known international organization. Most of them were had for about the price of a goat, give or take that’s about $40 a head. So yes when blacks here in the US rail against evil white slave owners, I’m one of them! Some people may be familiar with the organization, Christian Solidarity International, they do good work and if your ever in the market for a (somewhat temporary, last about as long as it takes to set them free) slave send them some money!

Those are all lies too. If they had said "outlawed" instead of "abolished" it would be more accurate. But outlawing it didn't make it disappear in those countries any more than alcohol prohibition in the U.S. made liquor vanish. Slavery is still widespread in those countries, to varying degrees.

Only white people can own slaves. Just as only white people can be racist.
