TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — At an event roughly three years ago, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords took a question from Jared Loughner, the man accused of trying to assassinate her and killing six other people. According to two of his high school friends the question was essentially this: "What is government if words have no meaning?"
Loughner was angry about her response — she read the question and had nothing to say.
"He was like ... 'What do you think of these people who are working for the government and they can't describe what they do?'" one friend told The Associated Press on Sunday. "He did not like government officials, how they spoke. Like they were just trying to cover up some conspiracy."
Both friends spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they wanted to avoid the publicity surrounding the case. To them, the question was classic Jared: confrontational, nonlinear and obsessed with how words create reality.

Ditto, this guy was a real life Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver). Unfortunately there are more of them out there. Extra security should be provided to politicians of any stipe who meet her profile, fairly young and fairly attractive.
One piece mentioned a breakup with a girlfriend although I don’t recall the timeline. I think that was described as being during the period about a year ago when he became withdrawn.
As a drafter, I use those symbols to indicate locations on Civil drawings, Also to indicate elevations on Plans or Cross sections on Architectural or Structural Drawings. I suppose it could be loosely interpreted as a scope because of the crosshairs, but check this out, Here is a link

to a commercial Harry Mitchell ran when he was running against JD Hayworth in 2006... It shows JD Hayworth in the crosshairs of a snipers scope... No mistaking it at all!
Especially his mother, who worked for the county. It’s not unusual, especially these days, for a 22 year old to be living at home...but if a fellow student could spot his troubles after being in clas with him one time, the family would at least have an inkling that something wasn’t right...
