Rep. Carl Wimmer, R-Herriman, said he plans to introduce a bill to eliminate the requirement for a state concealed weapon permit to carry a loaded gun.

People who do not live in Utah would still need a permit issued by Utah or another state...

I live in Utah and own 5 guns. I’ve never needed a permit.

Don't pack if you ride your Harley late on State if you match the ATL description of man with black T-shirt and beard.

If they pass this, I wonder if the reciprocity from having a UT permit still applies? If not, can I get my prints and photos back? Or at least certified destroyed?

Should be. Could be. It's what the Constitution says after all...

We're working on it. But it's heavy lifting rolling back 80 years of crap.

As it currently stands, the second amendment only applies to guns that aren’t too modern and only if you have special permission.

Whoa there partner! I have a Utah CCL and use it for the State of Ohio. Utah is already the best state to get a license in. I have one and have NEVER bean to Utah.

The best part is that the License is private. They do not report it to the local state in which you live, and it is legal to use it alone to carry in dozens of states.

Regarding Obama, guns, and all standard-capacity magazines:

He’s coming to take them away, Ha-ha!
He’s coming to take them away!

THAT is what Obama meant by the wildly-cheered code words in his Tucson speech: “We should be willing to challenge old assumptions in order to lessen the prospects of violence in the future.” aka Gun BANS!

Utah would become the fourth state after VT, AK and AZ not to require a permit for carry.

In Arizona, we kept the permit system for reciprocity. I expect they would do the same for Utah. We are working to eliminate the requirement for fingerprints for the Arizona permit. We do not require a photo. We have reciprocity with about as many states as Utah.

Wait. What?

You should have a permit not to carry a gun.

Don’t want to carry one? Go get a permit. Maybe even take a test and find out why you are so wimpy.

Since we can have health insurance forced/mandated, under President Leisler, all non-felon adults over the age of 18 are hereby required to own a 5 or more shot pistol in order to vote, serve office, acquire a passport.

Between MN, home State, and UT... I was covered on a whole slew of other States.

I'd prefer to just have the 2A "incorporated" under P&I and Art6 para 2. That would clear all this crap away. It'd allow the BATFE to go and find real employment as well...

They better hurry up, or Wyoming might beat them. IIRC, it passed both houses there, but the governor took offense at the pressure to sign it.
