Colorado Democrat Senator Mark Udall has put forward the oh-so-Boulder idea that politicians of both parties should intermingle for their State of the Union address seating on January 25th. Udall, and his letter's cosigners suggest that "partisan seating arrangements at State of the Union addresses serve to symbolize division instead of the common challenges we face in securing a strong future for the United States" and further that "the choreographed standing and clapping of one side of the room -- while the other side sits -- is unbecoming of a serious institution."
Senate cosigners include touchy-feely and "red state" Democrats and the usual list of "bipartisan" RINOs (including notably John McCain): Mark Udall, Lisa Murkowski, Kelly Ayotte, Mark Begich, Barbara Boxer, Ben Cardin, Susan Collins, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Mary Landrieu, Joseph Lieberman, Joe Manchin, John McCain, Claire McCaskill, Jeff Merkley, Ben Nelson, Jack Reed, Jeanne Shaheen, Olympia Snowe, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Ron Wyden. There is also a handful of House cosigners.

Who’s he talking about? Certainly not the US Congress; the biggest collection of thieves, perverts, liars and tax cheats outside of prison.
We did not place Republicans in control of the US House on a whim. We put them there to STOP Obama and crush anything he has planned for this country in the next two years. He - Democrats - DO NOT DESERVE bipartisan cooperation - they deserved to be crushed politically. By 'sitting' with them, they dilute our power and they dilute the true visage of the message that we sent them from the polls last November.
We, true Amercians, deserve this sight. If you (Republicans) take it from us, you will have holy hell to pay at the ballot box come 2012. Proceed at your peril.
The only way the Reps should agree to this is, when they arrive, they all are wearing red blazers.

As soon as I heard about this crap last week, I fired off a note to my congressman saying two words: NO WAY.
This is more than just an attempt to reduce the public’s perception of the size of each side of the aisle. It is the beginning of (.)bama’s 2012 campaign. From hope and change we are going to move onto united we thrive. This to replace solid proposals with something whimsical. No worry about the economy, fiscal policy, foreign policy or health care. Why discuss real problems when you can throw a bag over them and propose something nebulous. Write directly to your congressperson. Tell them no. Write letters to the editor exposing exactly what this is, a demoRAT trap being set.
To Repubs...Doing this makes us work against you and donate to your opponent in the next election. The “new tone” needed in WDC is to stop anything the LIBs attempt and to reverse or defund anything they have done.

What exactly do you expect the Speaker to do about it? First off, the ones i’ve seen willing to cross the aisles so far are Senators, not Representatives. Second, there is no assigned seating. You sit where you sit. If a hoard of Democrats arrive early and sit on the Republican side, he can’t forcibly remove them.
What’s “oh-so-Boulder”?
I expect him to tell House Members to sit in the traditional manner. He contols the chamber and access to it. If the Senators decide to mix with Democrats, especially MY two Senators from Georgia, I will support their primary opponents if any, and NOT vote for either again in a general election. I am tired of all this.
Who cares where they sit? This is more BS.
