Is Palin Done? They Wish

Sarah Palin’s detractors in the media are certainly prone to wishful thinking concerning the Cuda’s potential as the Republican nominee in 2012. Since Palin’s statement on the Tucson tragedy, some have written her off as a serious contender for the Republican nomination. Doyle McManus states in the LA Times that:

…she’s not going to be her party’s presidential nominee.

I disagree, Mr. McManus. As of now, if she wants it, it is hers. Of course, that may change, but a Palin run for the nomination would unleash a grassroots fury of support unseen on the right for a Republican presidential nominee in recent memory, and her detractors know it. Why else would much of the mainstream media be scrambling so often to convince independents that Palin isn’t viable? Plus, many of these people just do not like Palin and what she stands for, which is a pragmatic, principled view of government and fierce American individualism. Mainstream media types generally prefer theorizing about complex strategies and solutions to problems that were most likely created by over-theorizing in the first place. It’s how they were trained in academia and sometimes they just can’t help it. However, life isn’t complicated, and Sarah Palin knows it.

IF she gets the nomination the "Quayle-ing" ability of the MSM is not as strong as it once was. Dan Rather can attest to that one. The other advantage that she would have is she would not just get the 1 debate like a VP nominee gets.

It would be on her in a set of Presidential debates to prove the liars wrong. The distrust for the media in this country is at an all time high. If Palin went into the debates and wiped the floor with Obama I think the voting public would have to take notice. If they wouldn't then we have far bigger problems ahead of us...

A good friend of my wife's is a raving moonbat. She got physically ill when she saw the Palin VP speech in 2008 because she realized that this wasn't someone to take lightly because of what she believes and her strength in defensing it. The MSM can have their fun with character assassination now, but if you put her up on a stage fighting for just her own vision of what America can be again (and not have to defend McCain's) I honestly think it wouldn't be a contest.

The left's (and unfortunately the RINO's) power brokers know they're in trouble if she gets the nomination and its why they're trying to destroy her now.

"I'm still a bit nervous about a Palin run. I just don't see how she can overcome the Dan-Quayling the media have unleashed on her. Half the voters don't know Palin from Tina Fey.

This is also my big fear. Despite all the new media, the old media is still powerful and more partisan to the left than anything I have seen in my lifetime. Plus the new media is a two-edged sword. The left is more adept than the right in using it, and I don't see that changing in the next 2 years. Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm wrong, and will support Palin fully if she gets the nomination.

I agree but her first term will not begin until 2016. I believe she will either sit this one out or lose to the Republican elitists in the primary, but in 2016 America will practically annoint her president.

I had the same response the first time I saw Barry Soetoros.

You’re sure right about most journalists going in to their profession “to make a difference”. I think someone needs to keep this list, the original Journolist, for cross(hair) reference. the Journolist in all its glory (notice how many from politico): http://thevailspot.blogspot.com/2011/01/journolist-membership.html

I have young college-agers who go to school with journalism majors. NONE of the ones I've met could be said to be anything less than doctrinaire liberals. They go into journalism for the purpose of shaping the news to leftist advantage.

You nailed it!

The only reason the Bush slander worked was because he did little or nothing to fight it.

As we’ve seen, Sarah doesn’t have that problem.

" I just don't see how she can overcome the Dan-Quayling the media have unleashed on her."

Just keep watching... you won't be able to miss it. She'll overcome it the same way Reagan did. While he faced the same criticisms from the Lefty loons, he had nowhere near the absolutely, eternally devoted base that Sarah has throughout the heartland. The more they hack away at her with their knives and barbs, the bigger and stronger she appears... and is.

It is near-miraculous to watch. The harder they swing at her, the more of their teeth end up on the floor. Perhaps you're just having a hard time absorbing what it is that you are seeing, because it is so improbable and upside-down.

Bottom line, if Palin runs, she wins in a landslide.

;-\

If Randall Terry gets into the Dem Primary(he is quite capable of getting the signatures as I have a bit of knowledge about his contacts around the nation and his fiery speaking ability), this will shake up the media narratives big time. If other Dems enter the primaries, Terry will sap support from Obama, not from more”moderate” Dems. The media will have to spend energy and money will be spent trying to bury Terry and his strong pro-life message and ironically the media guns may be turned away from Palin at a critical decision time for her. He can speak very passionately without a tele prompter and is highly intelligent, thinking on his feet. I do say he missed his calling as when I first heard him speak at the church I attended; I sensed the evangelist gift in him.... a Billy Graham on steroids!

Terry won’t be so easily dissed or buried!

Whoever we run, the media will oppose them. They will make up whatever they need to defeat them and the others will lie down and let them. Palin will not lie down.

Many of the lies told about her will be exposed as soon as the campaign starts when they see her live giving speeches and in debates. The stupid woman- mean lady - diva narratives will not stand up and there will be more anger at the media for lying.

By considering the media in choosing our candidate, we are allowing them to decide who it will be. We’re done with that.

There are only two people on the Right capable of filling up a football stadium. Glenn Beck - but he is not and will not run for an office, and will keep doing what he does best.

More importantly, and ten times as scary for the left, Sarah Palin and Glen Beck are friends.

Just think about that. Worse, think about her other friends, Hannity?, Rush?, Levin? and you say she is washed up?

But, why do these people like her? Because she does what they say? Or, is it because she inspires them? Her most recent book, "America by Heart" is one of the most important "campaign books" of recent memory because it lays out a philosophy and does that by giving us a context for understanding that philosophy and why it is the right one for America.

In the end, Sarah is showing us that she is much more of an intellectual force than anyone is ready to even say. Like Reagan she can boil down an issue into something understandable and make it so regular people get it. This is why the shriek about the use of "blood libel." They were gored by it. She named their evil and it named them, and even as they try to cast it away it burns.

Beck and Hannity on the same stage, not likely. On Monday Palin used ever name except Beck's as ones who came under attach.

I nearly fell out of my chair when Michael Reagan mentioned Beck, I guess he wasn't told, that Hannity has never, to my knowledge mentioned Beck on his show.

Levin has often spoke of the problems Beck is causing his friend Hannity. I don't know what is going on, but I know there seems to be infighting at FOX, between the two. O'Reilly seems to have a use for Beck, and Greta has used him as well, but not Hannity.
