SNIP...Republicans are finding it's one thing to issue a blanket promise to cut spending, an entirely different matter when you actually take the scissors to $1 of every $6 spent by agencies like the IRS, the FBI, NASA and the National Park Service. Federal layoffs would be unavoidable, the White House warns.

It’s easy to say that ‘X’ number of Americans will be adversely affected by the cuts. What they fail to mention though, is that “ALL” Americans will be adversely impacted if they don’t make the cuts.

We can have a little pain over a longer period with light at the end of the tunnel or a total disaster with long-term effects. It’s like the old oil-filter commercial, ‘Pay now or pay later.’
