“It’s the greatest job in the world,”
It sure is, especially when the press and the constituants don’t hold you accountable.

“Term limits.”
While term limits sounds like a good idea on its face, the actual resulting government is seen in Michigan. You just end up with a rotation of the same folks from one public office to another, at all levels of the state. In addition, you get a lot of votes for terrible legislation when they know they are being termed out and it won’t matter.
I’d rather have a knowledgable electorate that votes smartly.

Dingell, 84, was first elected to the House in 1955 in a special election after his father, who previously held the seat, passed away.I sincerely hope that Dr Steele will consider running again as a Republican. And, begin campaigning in earnest before Labor Day.
I also hope that the MSM will fairly cover any debates these two may have. Dr Steele was far and away the better candidate in the debate I attended.

It takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.

Here's some info on his wife, Debbie Dingell:
Debbie Dingell is vice chairwoman of the General Motors Foundation, which handles the automakers community affairs work, and a senior executive at the company. She is also a member of the board of governors for Wayne State University.
His son Christopher was a state Senator and is now currently a Third Circuit Court Judge hailing from the same district.
This family has literally made a multi-generational career and fortune off Michigan taxpayers...........

Dingell, who has previously served as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, also commented on the possibility that his district composition could change significantly since Republicans have complete control of the redistricting process in Michigan.
Thanks markomalley.

Isn't it kind of crazy for any congresscritter, especially an 84 year-old not in the best of health, to declare he is running for another term when his current term has barely begun? And especially when he doesn't know what his prospective district will look like?
Arrogance or senility?

I say run baby run. Let the American people hear over and over his words about the Health Care bill and WHO really wrote it.
Not to worry, the Dummies will tell him to “Sit Down And Shut Up” before this joke goes to far.

I live right outside this district and have an Ann Arbor address. The sad part - Dingell's probably the least worst guy from that district who could win. Steele did a great job, but that's just a nasty district.
If someone from Ann Arbor City like Rebekah Warren or Liz Brater runs and wins, we'll be wishing for Dingell. Even redistricting would be tough since Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti are 70% dimocrap and combine for 160,000 people. The area around Metro Airport is bigtime dimocrap as well.

Amendment: Term limits and then NO MORE POLITICAL OFFICES OR APPOINTMENTS.

Yes he wants to scare off any potential challengers. His age and any major changes to the district leave him vulnerable.
I have to think that Lynn Rivers prays daily for his death.
