Fox News joins MSM in ignoring March for Life [vanity]

Posted on 01/24/2011 1:34:00 PM PST by Paul Kib

Fox News has joined the MSM today in ignoring the March for Life. I checked the websites of Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, Daily Caller, and Big Government. Nothing on their home pages about the March for Life, which, by some estimates, attracted some two million people, many of them young people, from around the country.

FAIL.

Might be worth calling them on it

This happens every year. It has been happening, to my knowledge, since the early 1990s, and probably before that. While admirable, it is not exactly news.

Figures. Two million is evidence of a swell of grass roots and a knowledge that whether it’s covered or not, we’re there and we’re more numerous than you want to know.

That is sad. Is CSPAN showing any of it?

Their blackout must be working.

I’ve never heard of it.

Yes, FAIL indeed Paul. If they do not repent, will they fail their "finals" as well ...

EWTN is showing it from start to finish. My l5-year old granddaughter is there, but it is so crowded that there is no way I can see her. She went with about l50 teenagers and chaperoned by some brothers and priests from St. John Cantius in Chicago. This is her second year. She asked for today and tomorrow off from her public high school, but she was afraid to tell them where she was going because she wasn’t sure if they would excuse her. Then she found one of the people in her office from her parish and she arranged it.

And people think I’m nuts when I say Fox news is liberal too, just not as liberal as most of the others.

Bottom line is that the MSM can not really be trusted. And yes, that includes Fox.

CSPAN did not cover it (at least not live). The only coverage I saw of it was on EWTN, the Catholic station. My son was there with three bus loads from Hillsdale College & said Fox had a team there, but I haven’t seen anything about it today. Maybe Hannity will give it a token shout out.

There were some very passionate speeches from members of Congress - more than I remember in past years.

We shouldn’t be too hard on the libertarian Fox News - at least they didn’t miss the story about Oprah’s long lost sister and UFO’s and crop circles. Because that’s really, really important breaking news, right? Sheesh!

Fox is covering it. See some of the other posts on this thread. I saw it once this morning before work. Others have different accounts of multiple runnings of the story.

Back in the time of Newt, I happened to be in DC at the time of this event. I was thrilled to attend, all by myself. The crowd was so insular, that I couldn’t get anyone to chat with me. I was very weird and off-putting.
