USDA deregulates GE alfalfa; opens door to new era of widespread genetic pollution of crops
NaturalNews.com ^ | January 28, 2011 | Mike Adams

Under these programs, the USDA uses chemical poisons to murder literally millions of birds each year, including an occasional endangered species animal by accident. This is all part of the USDA's insane program of death to protect the financial interests of conventional agriculture giants.

Your joy at the look of the field does not concern me as a consumer. As a consumer, I want healthy foods, not foods containing bug poison built right in.

Perhaps you can tell me how much corn is in my 16oz bag of Fritos? How much the farmer gets, and why I’m paying $3.00.
I’m pretty sure than the farmer is getting less than $3.00 for a pound of corn. But you might know how much.

That wide, wide disparity between what the I pay and what the farmer gets makes me feel that a significant improvement in alfalfa yields is not worth hurting the environment, or putting the environment at risk.

Find other ways to get your yield. Mychorrizae. charcoal, duplicate Terra Preta soils. Figure it out. But current farming practices could use improvement.

>> “The real bread and butter that feeds America is, and has been, genetically modified crops.” <<

.
That is a lie from the pit of hell.

You are trying to equate natural cross-polination with destructive gene splicing. Hybrids are not “genetically modified,” they usually revert back to the original on the next generation.

I’ll see if I can find the research article debunking all that nonsense. I came across it just in the last weeek.

Just google "farmer sued by Monsanto contaminated" and you will see many farmers sued by Monsanto after their crops were contaminated by Monsanto's patented seeds.

It sounds a little conspiratorial to say that the contamination was done on purpose. It might all be caused by the birds and the wind. But it would be easy for someone to do it on purpose to hurt a competitor.

Eventually, almost all crops with a GMO variation will be contaminated. They will be very resistant to disease, but when the right disease comes along, it will be a repeat of the Potato Famine and it will lead to the sort of food riots going on in Egypt right now.

>> “GMO has meant higher quality, cleaner, more consistant crops.” <<

.
Bullshit!

It has meant franken-food that destroys the health of the general public, and can even be reflected genetically in their children.

I’m talking about GMO crops, not hybrids.

I got to ride a combine this past fall, first time in 24 years. The crops were amazing, the field, never cultivated, was completely weed free.

All possible as a result of GMO, which as been around for about 20 years.

Wow. And this stuff is on the market? Or has this been banned already? Are you sure this isn’t crackpot stuff?

The real research has debunked all the false debunking.

Save the lies for fools.

Hmm, is your claim that Monsanto’s products are not cross pollinating other fields and seed producers processes, then suing them for “unlicensed usage”

As a Libertarian, I believe people like you should be free to eat unnatural foods grown with chemicals, and people like me should be free not to.

GMOs contaminate the food supply, so people do not get to choose natural foods. GMOs are not the same as hybrids, plant husbandry, fertilizers, plant hormones, etc.

More or less, now I’m waiting for Balding Eagle to dispute that, however as it sits now, if a Farmer or Seed cleaner or producer is not licensed by Monsanto, they can be sued for producing their product with no license.

How Monsanto was able to gain such a concession is astounding to consider, their product cross pollinates a non monsanto crop and the owner of the non monsanto crop can be sued for damages?

Suit yourself... but all it takes is a brief wander around that site to see that it’s crackpot central.

Chemtrails anyone?

Piffle.

How true about the vaccinations...ever wanted to know why the unvaccinated Amish DO NOT have any autistic children?...

The prudent thing to do would be to investigate the connection instead of ignoring a link may exist.

Don’t bother trying to reason with them. Just let the luddite animals starve to death or break their backs harvesting “natural” crops. I’ll take higher yields, lower prices, and enhanced food any day of the week.

Natural News is a very solid site.

Their detractors are truly crackpots.

I guess you missed the recent news that the guy who “proved” the dangers of vaccines for children has recently been exposed as a total fraud, replete with falsified studies, etc.

No, I don’t have the link and it is late and I am not going to do your homework for you.

Google it.

>> “GMO has meant higher quality, cleaner, more consistant crops.” <<

Bullshit! .

You can say that from behind a keyboard, but if you were to go out into the field, you would easily find indisputable evidence that crop yields are higher (for corn its' about 40% over that last 10 years), better quality (More protein, more starch, etc. your choice) and more consistant (both in yields and the type of product).

The evidence is indisputable, talk to any farmer who grows food for a living.

Which is all fine..for you, the line is crossed for me when Monsanto and GMO’s then infect the rest of the food supply and then file lawsuits.
