GE = genetically engineered or GMO genetically modified organism or GEO genetically engineered organism.

Tom Vilsack, Obama's agriculture boss, used to fly around in a Monsanto corporate jet while governor of Iowa. During that same period he was also named "Governor of the Year" by the Biotechnology Industry Council.

Monsanto can’t be bad; they donate lots of money to politicians.

One of the few things government should do is prevent poisoning of the food supply. When government does too many things it should not do, it does not properly do the few things it should do.

What is the name of that poison they are using to Kill all of those birds??? Do you get the urge to moo after you have eaten a good steak are to cycle water though your gills after eating fish. When that starts to happen you may have started breaking your food down to the DNA level and you have a problem.

We are standing on the edge of a Garden of Eden, with huge advances in the volumn and quality of food we produce just ahead.

Yep and Monsanto and this genetically engineered food is going to bite us in the azz later on. They will control all foods.

They sneak/trespass to test fields of farmers, some who have never used their seeds, then sue the farmer when a plant that cross-pollinated naturally turns up in the farmers field.

It’s frightening to think about the implications of it all, really.

That pollination deal on the surface is despicable, it is their product that is contaminating other fields and crops not their own, then they sue the owner for their own negligence.

Take it from a retired farmer who still has lots of contacts with farmers.........that's a crock of shit generated by Leftists.

There's no other way to properly describe such nonsense.

...murder literally millions of birds each year...

Kind of like those giant wind turbines that have been dubbed "bird smashers" killing thousands of raptorial birds annually.

GE foods will allow developed countries to provide adequate food supplies to the 3rd world, that cannot care for itself. And selfish, unscientific new-age libs oppose genetic engineering, yet push bogus global warming. Makes my head spin!

The same people that just “knew” that vaccinating children causes autism.

The same people that swear our east coast will soon be under 10 ft. or more of sea water, the same....

From a current farmer who has never, ever, met another farmer that has been trespassed upon or sued ... I second your comments.

Someone reads it on the interwebs and repeats it. Somebody will read it on this thread and repeat it as fact.

I agree. And when people talk about abolishing the EPA, I’m not for it. Much of what the EPA does is ridiculous, but they should ban GMO entirely. I don’t know what is wrong with this alfalfa, but previously, they’ve spliced in genes from a bacteria. BT Potatoes have this gene spliced in. They took the part of the bacteria which killed potato bugs, and spliced it in. Some potatoes are now part potato part insecticide.

It irritates the hell out of me to see lies pass the lips of some so easily.

You would think we’ve been infiltrated by anti-American Leftists.

Monsanto is as evil as they come. GMO should be banned.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The GMO crops have revolutionized our food production beyond what could only be dreamt about just 20 or 30 years ago.

For example, it’s a pleasure to sit in a combine and watch top quality feedstuffs being harvested from clean fields, womething impossible just 2 decades ago.

It would be comical if it were not so sad. You would think that of the folks that the seed companies are not killing and poisoning, they are suing the pants off of. How on earth do they have any customers left?

Monsanto is as evil as they come.

Funny, most farmers who deal with them first hand and regularly have just the opposite opinion.

In fact, you'll find that it's primarily anti-American Leftists who share your view.

Best check your 'facts'.

Does this mean Monsanto gets to sue everybody whose lawn is contaminated with their GE grass?
