Report: Egypt Protesters Begging Obama to Save Them From Gov't "Bloodbath"

Protesters in Egypt are begging U.S. President Barack Obama to intervene and save them from a "bloodbath," according to CNN reporter Ben Wedeman who has been live Tweeting from Tahrir Square in Cairo today.

Pro-Mubarak forces have descended on Tahrir square today ared with heavy sticks and knives, according to reports, and provoked fierce fighting between the two sides. Rocks, other heavy objects and Molotov cocktails have been hurled across the square and from above from buildings overlooking the square. Wedeman describes the situation in Tahrir Square as "very ugly" and expresses fear the Mubarak government will repeat the Communist Chinese massacre of peaceful freedom demonstrators in Peking's Tianenman Square in 1989.

Wederman goes on to describe the counter-action as a "Government-sanctioned mass lynch in underway Tahrir Square."

Direct Twitter links to Wedeman's reports:

Begging Obama. "People in Tahrir square begging Obama to intervene. They are terrified a bloodbath is about to occur."

Tianenman 2? "Just got out of Tahrir. Very ugly. Something is being cooked up here. Tienanmen 2? Is this stability?"

Gov't mass lynch. "Government-sanctioned mass lynch underway in Tahrir Square."

Wedeman's most recent Tweet just minutes ago:

The mob has taken over central Cairo.

Let me get this straight. The folks who have been condemning the US and Israel now for a week are begging the US to rescue them?

Talk about hubris!

Egypt is one of Obama's chosen states to promote.

The U.S.A. is not.

Obama should have gotten our people out two weeks ago.

We're going to have hundreds of terrorists at our door.

No way to sort them now.

Close the damn doors....and don't you dare send soldiers there. It's their civil war...Let them kill each other.

>> The mob has taken over central Cairo

I’m confused — is the “mob” that has taken over central Cairo the PRO Mubarak mob, or the ANTI Mubarak mob?

No. This is a CNN set up - BS. They are begging a fellow muslim to save them. He will then “save the day” and the world will love him. The media is just setting this all up.
