Glenn Beck is "marginalizing" himself with conspiracy talk about Egypt's anti-Mubarak protests and evoking memories of the John Birch Society's Communist-conspiracy talk of the 1960's, leading conservative pundit William Kristol wrote over the weekend.
The Fox News pundit hit back on his Monday radio show, saying that Kristol is abandoning conservatives and fails to fathom an unholy alliance between Islamic activists and socialists.
"I don't even know if you understand what conservatives are anymore, Billy," Beck said. "People like Bill Kristol, I don't think they stand for anything anymore. All they stand for is power. They'll do anything to keep their little fiefdom together, and they'll do anything to keep the Republican power entrenched."
Beck broadened his accusation, saying that Kristol does not understand that "we are fighting the forces of evil on this planet."
Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, wrote over the weekend that "hysteria is not a sign of health," and added:
"When Glenn Beck rants about the caliphate taking over the Middle East from Morocco to the Philippines, and lists (invents?) the connections between caliphate-promoters and the American left, he brings to mind no one so much as Robert Welch and the John Birch Society. He's marginalizing himself, just as his predecessors did back in the early 1960's."

They couldn’t be so wrong.

The others simply say he’;s a nut , he’s this or that.
Of course they can’t even do their own research and the likes of Kristol sees that knowledge is getting to the public and the left and the establishment hate that.
They’ve sat in their ivory towers for decades telling us what is this and that but now we have access to all info and they hate that.

Good for Beck and thanks to him for pointing out so many of what the left is up to along with radical islam

Glenn Beck lost me when he attacked Birthers, who now are 58% strong, and still hasn’t addressed the issue in any meaningfull way.
In retrospect, how right or wrong WERE the Birchers, in the 60s?
The evidence litters the landscape but idiots like Kristol desperately avoid looking at it. To make matters worse he desperately tries to keep others from looking at it too.

Kristol is establishment. I wouldn’t curse Beck that harshly. It’s probably been a year since I’ve listened to Beck, but he was a long way from RINO then.
Billyboy Kristol was a prepubescent schoolboy in the "early 1960's" and doesn't know what was going on back then any more than he knows about the French revolution. I hate when these pampered preppy juveniles talk as if they have some kind of gravitas. No big fan of Glen Beck here, either, but he gets the call over Kristol.
I have said this before. Beck is one of the most courageous men alive today. I am watching another, Geert Wilders. These two are in the forefront of trying to educate the “masses.” I only hope and pray that enough people are paying attention because the left and the muslims absolutely are, and they will murder.

kristoleum was an old guard mccain supporter. Can’t ever convince me he is, or was ever, a true Conservative. He flies on his daddy’s reputation.
And, I haven't forgotten how Kristol stabbed Christine O'Donnell in the back on the night she won her primary. Disgraceful.
Beck may be missing some of his marbles, but Kristol is disloyal.

I mean take one of the rumors that was spread around the world about alleging that someone at Guantanamo Bay had flushed a Koran down the toilet. There were riots in three or four cities, people were killed, and by the time the truth came around that there never was a Koran flushed down the toilet at Guantanamo, it was absolutely false, and of course the journalist that did it then said if there was some portion of their story that was wrong, they’re sorry, but the people were dead already. So these things are important. The thing that was on the backside of that however is that there’s something about our country that we’re reluctant to engage in a competition of ideas in government. We are up against a vicious enemy, the radical Islamists are there, they intend to try to create a caliphate in this world and fundamentally alter the nature of nation states, and we’re reluctant to engage in the competition of ideas and point out what they really are and how vicious they are. This current administration is even afraid to say the word Islamist. And we need to fight. We need to be willing to say what it is and be willing to tackle it. And thank goodness for people like you who are willing to do it.
