Doesn’t Wal-Mart recruit illegals and push globalism?
Idiot liberal elected by other idiot liberals.
You KNOW the competitors of Wal-Mart gave envelopes
of unaccountable $$$$$$$$$ to the bizarre-”speaking”
mayor — it is the way of the DNC.
Mumbles Menino!!!!
1) The US has "food deserts" where poor people in inner city areas live far away from supermarkets and do not have access to groceries, or are gouged by local stores that charge high prices.
2) Wal-Mart is bad and must not be allowed to build stores near inner city areas.
I commute from New Hampshire to my job at Hanscom. No way would I ever consider moving to Mass!
"put down the rich grab cakes slowly, and no body gets hurt"
I'd like to hear Boston's blue-collar families explain why they continue voting for Democrats.
I want to make sure they are good jobs, that their employees get health insurance, retirement plans all the benefits everyone else gets.
This guy sure uses a lot of words, unnecessary words. Why didn’t he just say what he meant: “I want to make sure they are UNION jobs.”
First of all, Wal-Mart is shabby chic.
Second, nobody has any money anymore, so who cares if it "doesn't fit the clientele". Since 0bama has been in, nobody gives a sh*t about that stuff anymore... it's survival mode, baby.
Third, there are almost no 'normal' grocery stores in Boston... you get ripped off by bodegas, Whole Food freakshow stores, and have to go an hour out of town to buy anything in quantity and normal brandage.
And thus is revealed the mentality of the elitist-socialist-fascist. You don't need to decide or have a choice, we, your betters and the elite, will decide what's good for you.
{shudder} What a horrific vision of America. I almost feel sorry for the good people of Boston...but then, you brought this on yourselves.
Wal-Mart does not suit the clientele we have in the city of Boston,
Really??
I’ll bet the urban Blacks along with the poor white folks who work at gas stations, deliver coffee to Starbucks or landscape the fancy Cambridge lawns would LOVE to have a cheap, convenient place to shop.
The mayor is an elitist POS.
you have to remember, wherever a Walmart opens, locally owned businesses are then put at a disadvantage. Often it is a death sentence for small businesses.
Sounds like a Goring speech in 1934
Regards
having lived almost my entire life in the peoples democratik republik of michiganstan, I have found only 2 types of people that hate wal mart....either hard core leftists or hard core union types....I use wal mart as a sounding board to find out who and what I am dealing with...works 99.9% of the time
Not to sound elitist but I’m also a bit of a history buff and purist. I wouldn’t mind something like a Wal Mart in a place like Boston if it is able to blen into the historic background (ala perhaps several vacant shop together). My mind turns to something like the department stores you find in cities.
“Health insurance and a pension are benefits everyone gets? Spoken like a true City Hall hack”
Hey Tomi If your reason for keeping out Wal Mart is they don’t give pensions,I suggest you also get rid of IBM and Verison who also don’t give pensions.
IBM happened a number of years ago, Wake up tom and stop acting as a shill for labor Unions.
Finished his sentence for him.
Wal-Mart does not suit the clientele we have in the city of Boston, Menino said. I dont need employers like that in our city.
Ok, let them build. If there is no clientele the will go broke there and close the store, throwing their employees out of work.
If Walmart opens and pays their regular wages, the political hacks will claim Walmart abusing it’s employees. If true, the employees will seek jobs elsewhere. No one is forced to work there!
If Walmart raises its wages for employees they will have to raise prices in their store. Then the political hacks will claim Walmart is robbing the poor who shop there.
