Barack Obama said the people of Egypt now feel, "For the first time in my life, I really count."
That phrase sounds so familiar.
Speaking in Milwaukee, Wisconsin today, would-be First Lady Michelle Obama said, "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."
Then in Madison, she said, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."

Some conservatives out there (HERE for instance) seem to find Mrs. Obama's quote offensive, wondering why a 44 year old woman never felt proud before today.
Asked for a response to the remark, Obama campaign spox Bill Burton said, “Of course Michelle is proud of her country, which is why she and Barack talk constantly about how their story wouldn’t be possible in any other nation on Earth. What she meant is that she’s really proud at this moment because for the first time in a long time, thousands of Americans who’ve never participated in politics before are coming out in record numbers to build a grassroots movement for change.".....
Geez, what a crock.

My thought upon hearing of Mubarak’s ouster is: “For the first time in my adult life, Israel will be facing yet another major, all out existential war.”

The beauty of being a leader of the free world, is that you can sound the voice of reason. What is taking place in Egypt right now IS NOT reasoned.
Obama could choose to state something like he did, or comment on the slippery slope Egypt is poised on at this minute.
This isn’t a moment for rejoicing. It’s a moment of grave danger for the whole planet. If the Suez is closed, the forces of evil spread darkness across Egypt and the region, the West could be looking at very dark days indeed.
Iran wants to cut of oil to the West. Egypt seems to be poised to at least consider closing the Suez Canal. And as crazy as that sounds, and as suicidal as it may be, radical Islamacists do wacky and crazy things.
Obama has all the reasoning power of a nine year old.
May the fleas of a thousand camels be upon him.

I am sure he thinks what happened in Egypt was all about him. Of course it was Bambi, everything on Earth is about you.

I think there is a very sinister possibility in our future. I think that the moral degeneracy of day to day American liberalism has reached a point that even they are sickened with their own ethos. Islam offers the externals of virtue, without any soul searching repentance, or soul changing reform. The virtues are all on the surface, but it is OK to regard your political enemies not only as your enemies, but God’s. Hatred is OK, and the weapons are NOT spiritual. It is the ultimate vehicle for malicious condescension, abuse, officiousness and tyrannizing.
Look for Islam to become a fad religion amongst some on the American left, when white latte liberals begin to ape the “conversions” of disaffected black dissidents and prison convicts. I have already seen several such conversions, perversely among women. People underestimate the allure of Islam to those who have no religious affiliation, and little understanding of Islam’s history and imperatives.
Liberal women must have secret desires to be mutilated and abused.
