Ron Paul has pulled off a reapeat, winning the CPAC presidential straw poll once again with 30 percent of the vote.
Mitt Romney finished second with 23 percent ... Newt Gingrich at 5 percent; Tim Pawlenty, Michelle Bachmann and Mitch Daniels at 4 percent, Sarah Palin at 3 percent, and everybody else at 2 percent or less.

Yeah, it's easy to dismiss CPAC as a libertarian lovefest or RINO ranch, but Palin finished behind even Bachmann.
That's not good when you consider how similar their stands on issues are and how popular both are with tea partiers.
It makes one wonder if the activists there think Sarah's become unelectable.
Nice try.
Do some research on CPAC and Palin.
Please! Bachmann finish only one point ahead of Sarah IIRC but both finished with 5-6% of the vote! It’s a freaking bus in your supporters straw poll!!! It means nothing
Oh please. There are very few traditional conservatives left at CPAC.
Sarah Palin has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as COS for her political action committee, Sarah PAC. Glassner, an attorney and longtime adviser to former Kansas senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole, has signed on to steer the former Alaska governor's political operation as she considers a possible 2012 presidential bid. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Glassner managed her vice presidential operations.
ITEM Michael Glassner's work for Dole AND McCain does not denote a man of principle.
ITEM Michael Glassner served as counselor to NY/NJ Port Authority Chairman Lewis M. Eisenberg.
ITEM Eisenberg was one of the first to introduce pro-abortion policies into the Repub Party---was he a stalking horse for the dreaded neocons?
ITEM For many years, Mr. Eisenberg was a partner of Goldman Sachs & Co
ITEM The IRS has targeted govt authorities as the locus classicus for govt fraud. The NY/NJ/PA was fingered as one of THE most corrupt govt agencies.
ITEM Eisenberg served on New York Gov George Pataki's transition team and was a key advisor to New Jersey Gov Christine Whitman (both of them not known as staunch conservatives).
=========================================
REFERENCE After years w/ GS, in 1990, Eisenberg founded Granite Capital International Group, an investment management company headquartered in NYC. Mr. Eisenberg also served from 1995-2001 as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the NY/NJ Port Authority. The Port Authority is the owner of the World Trade Center, and Mr. Eisenberg led the agency through the first three months of recovery and clean-up after the 911 terrorist attacks. He was recently named a member of New York's Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Authority, which will spearhead the rebuilding of Ground Zero.
Eisenberg's community and charitable activities include leadership in health and healthcare related institutions. He is on the Planning Board of UJA/United Jewish Federation.
Mr. Eisenberg was once elected Finance Chairman of the RNC. He raised millions of dollars for the Republican Party and Republican candidates.
Eisenbergs support for Republicans appears to be limited..... He also writes checks to liberal Democrats like Walter Mondale, Dick Gephardt, Tim Wirth, Chris Dodd, Bruce Babbitt, Joe Biden, and others.
She was ask I understand to be the keynote speaker. She declined...
Is it understandable that she wasn’t voted for? Means nothing. The people who attended had a lot invested in this. She was a no-show, Of course they didn’t vote for her. That doesn’t necessary mean they reject her or her ideas.
Paul has some support on fiscal issues from the Tea Party, yet when it comes to Foreign Policy, the guy sounds like a Left Wing loon.
FYI, Here's what I believe is the reason Gov. Palin won't appear at CPAC.
lol.
That is too true
Palin did not attend CPAC. Along with her, I believe most of us “Palinistas” stayed away. No point in joining a GOProud gropefest.
The Ron Paulites: The other Trojan horse of the Conservative Movement. You don’t call him Ron Paul Pot for nothing.
You are not supposed to post these kind of threads without pissant’s permission, okey?
But only Sarah will be President of the United States of America....
It will be one cold day in hell before I vote for Ron Paul.
But then why did she lose to Bachmann? Gays wouldn’t vote for her either.
But then why did she lose to Bachmann? Gays wouldn’t vote for her either.
She didn’t hire Eisenberg. It also seems Glassner won’t be in any policy-making position, just organizational.
If these activists think Ron Paul is electable; then who cares 'what' they think?
Thanks for the imfo, Liz. I have been hearing more and more about this.
Are you not smart enough to figure out that any group who thinks Ron Paul will win anything but his congressional seat will certainly not vote for Palin.
It tells you more about this inside the beltway group than it does about the other candidates chances, including Palin.
