YAF kicks out Ron Paul
Politico ^ | February 12, 2011 | Byron Tau

Posted on 02/13/2011 8:42:44 AM PST by Tolerance Sucks Rocks

A prominent conservative activist group has given Ron Paul the boot.

The Young Americans for Freedom has voted the Texas congressman off its national advisory board in the aftermath of his straw poll win at CPAC over his positions on national security issues. Continue Reading

"It's a sad day in American history when a one-time conservative/libertarian stalwart has fallen more out of touch with America's needs for national security then our current socialist presidential regime," said the group's national director Jordan Marks.

The dispute between Paul and the the group seems to stem from Paul's anti-war activities and the prominence of his supporters at conservative events like CPAC.

"Rep. Paul is clearly off his meds and must be purged from public office. YAF is starting the process by removing him from our national advisory board. Good riddance and he won't be missed," added Marks.

"I hadn't heard of YAF doing anything in years, I thought they were defunct. Young Americans for Liberty is the group of the future," said Ron Paul's political director (and in-law) Jesse Benton in an email to POLITICO.

Can I be honest? If you're against it, I'm for it..

Can I be honest, I'm not surprised. So much of the Paul side of the house is about personality instead of principle (even though they claim the latter). Their view of the Constitution is what Paul says it is. No matter what he does, he is right because he is Paul. I even saw them twist three ways from Sunday to justify his voting for Nancy Pelosi's tax hike bill. That crew is quick to take snippets of quotes made by Paul and form a philosophy around it even though the full quote has a much different meaning (the infamous George Washington's farewell address is a good example of this.) You try to bring up the Federalist Papers and they go back to 'what Paul says' about something.

Frankly, it is one of the things that bug me about Paul more than even some of his policy disagreements. He is getting entire generations of college kids to look to a guy from government as the solution. Heck, I was messing with some the other day on Facebook and posted a joke slogan - "Ron Paul 2012, he is from the government and he is here to help" and they jumped all over it like wildfire thinking it was brilliant.

He has the power to make a generation of at least Libertarians who are self empowered (and may even grow up to be Conservatives)- instead, he is making a generation of Paulartarians who are Paul-empowered and he is lapping it up.

That may not be by accident.
The Code Pinkos tend to like Ron Paul.

Is Ron Paul, The Lyndon LaRouche of the GOP Conservatives?

It has been my experience that the Paul crowd tries to disrupt any political gathering that I have been to. The interrupt. They make rude comments during speeches.

Rude comments?? Oh no!!!

Lets all sit around hold hands and talk nicy nicy, while we watch our standard of living implode, watch our economy tumble down range out of control, while we gawk at our lawless violent borders, as our corrupt foreign polices blow up in our faces, while government grows into an all controlling behemoth...

Lets have some tea, everyone smile and remember, be polite!! Lets all bring party favors to the warm polite discussion!!

I don't think he has any principled opposition to homosexual marriage.

He's a Libertarian. The Libertarian message has been, to my ears at least, "Up with drugs, down with borders, and everybody do their own thing."

So I presume homosexual marriage would fall under the last category.

I think we should spend less time attacking each other and MORE time attacking the treasonous left.

RINOs probably think it’s an extremist view, along with the Democrats.

He came out after the 90-91 war and implied that our use of A9 armored bulldozers and tanks with plow attachments to clear trenches amounted to war crimes. Both in his newsletter and on television.

He is an antimilitary nutburger.

Pul voted yes : To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States

We will still be chasing " those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States." as Iraq becomes a distant memory.

Paul's talk doesn't match his votes.

His vote DADT is one such example.

Probably not but give it a try.

If you're against it, I'm for it..

As far as I know mnehring is against the homosexual agenda so your own words have outed you once again.

Well, we’ll see. It could be that YAF is just making room on its board for a blatant Log Cabin type.

“just yesterday I was told his supporters are college liberals and leftist..Now I’m told their extreme right wing nazis?
Which is it? “

It depends on whether the Paulbots are in manic or depressive stages...and if they are taking their medications.

What is important is that they are irrelevant.

Hmmm, just yesterday I was told his supporters are college liberals and leftist..

Now I’m told their extreme right wing nazis?

Which is it?

Nazi’s are National SOCIALISTS — which by any definition is STILL Left wing. Don’t believe everything you hear in the MSM. They’re just a different brand of Leftists than Communists....
