House votes 244-179 to kill U.S. funding of IPCC

Just before 2 a.m. on February 19, the war on climate science showed its grip on the U.S. House of Representatives as it voted to eliminate U.S. funding for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The Republican majority, on a mostly party-line vote of 244-179, went on record as essentially saying that it no longer wishes to have the IPCC prepare its comprehensive international climate science assessments. To give you the flavor of how the know-nothings are in the saddle, here’s the debate on the amendment to de-fund the IPCC (my unofficial transcript).

I don’t underestimate the wiles of Obama to cover his tracks and the medias assistance to do just that...regardless of the Peoples will. He’s been doing it along along and I don’t think he will sway from his agenda other than the traditional word-speak he uses to deceive with.

But that cuts both ways. The Senate and Obama need to have House sign off on any spending.

I suspect they will just start having SS recipients call their Representatives to get them to cave. Usually works.
