Arlington police are on the scene at NorthPointe Baptist Church on Brown Boulevard, where at least one person is dead and one is injured.
Police responded to a call at the church about 4:15 p.m.
NorthPointe is satellite campus of First Baptist Church in Arlington.
According to WFAA's website, police said the suspect or suspects in the case may have fled the scene in the female victim's car, which was missing from the scene.
The vehicle is a four-door, cream-colored 2007 Mitsubishi Galant. The license plate number is DFR-352.
Police have asked that anyone who spots the car alert authorities and not approach anyone inside the vehicle.

Wasn’t there a law passed or being passed about guns allowed in churches? I wonder if there would have been someone there with a gun if things would have turned out different.

I picture someone trying to get the church to give them money, and when they didn't get what they wanted...
People call my church every day wanting help with food, rent, utilities, even car payments and they tend to get upset when we have to tell them that we have just enough money to help the poor in our own congregation. Other than that our small church does manage to donate $1,000 per year to the salvation army and we support missionaries.
People get mad and tell us that the church is supposed to help all the poor, not just church members.
the details about this murder are horrific and will come to light soon. The reason I know the victims is because my father is also a minister in Arlington. But rest assured, had they tried this on my dad, the out come would have been a lot different. If I find my father dead in his office there will be a lot of spent brass to wade threw to get to his body.
They are hitting churches because its one of the few places in Texas that they believe will be un-armed. That is changing.
I’d be truly interested in the outcome of this if you wouldn’t mind.

We have the same problem here. It got so bad many years ago that now a person requesting help must first go to the local police dept and get a voucher that they really need help.
You would be surprised how many never come back.
Prayers for the victims and the families. So sad that you aren’t safe in the House of our Lord.
I am member of this church and know positively without a doubt that it is not domestic.
All I have to say is it is very devastating to our church family as we were all very close knit.
We don’t know why this happened and won’t know unless they catch who did it.
I live in the area, and this is NOT close to JerryWorld, but rather several miles to the north in a rather affluent area surrounded by upper-class homes. It is nothing like the area around the sports stadiums.
The entertainment district (Rangers, Cowboys, Six Flags, etc.) is 3-4 miles south of the church, below I-30.
But there’s no place safe any more.
I’m a member of another church in North Arlington. We keep all doors locked, with camera and buzzer so that the office staff controls and knows who comes into the building.
Sad, isn’t it, that our society has come to this.
