The father of a 5-year-old boy killed in 1975 is vowing to murder his son's killer if the man is released, as scheduled, several years early from a 40-year sentence.

John Foreman said in an interview Monday with WPRO-AM radio that he will kill convicted murderer Michael Woodmansee "as aggressively and as painfully" as he killed his son if Woodmansee is released from prison early.

Woodmansee, who was 16 years old at the time, kidnapped and killed Jason Foreman in 1975 in South Kingstown, R.I. He confessed and was convicted of second-degree murder eight years later.

Jason Foreman was presumed to be missing until 1982, when Woodmansee tried to lure another boy into his home. The boy escaped and police began to question Woodmansee about Foreman's disappearance......

I vaguely remember something of the kind, but I’m afraid I don’t remember any of the details.

When Law Enforcment fails to enforce the law; When justice stops prevailing, there is little choice left.

One of the things we give up is vengeance. On one side the people agree not to seek private vengeance in exchange for a promise by our government to punish those that wrong us.

Personally I prefer allowing the state to deal with finding justice but I can understand those that feel cheated.

Vigilantism occurs when a system designed to protect the innocent and punish the guilty now does the opposite.

The man’s an idiot.
Only a complete moron would announce his intentions ahead of time.

I’d do it... that sentence is a joke... I wouldn’t let my kid’s killer live out his natural life.

No, I think it should be made known, especially to the killer. Let him sweat it out.

I would assume his life has been hell for the past 35 years and he figures he has nothing to lose.

Yes, there was such a case. It used to rerun on the court channel because it was caught on videotape, which I’ve been searching for on youtube.

A man’s young son was molested by a `youth counselor’ or some such, who was convicted but given an almost token sentence. Local media was filming the dirtbag being led in cuffs down the airport concourse when the father, crouched at a pay phone with his back to the camera, suddenly turned, walked up and put a round in the dirtbag’s temple. I mean, he did a real Jack Ruby. The hair exploded and the dirtbag went into terminal fetal in a pool of blood.

Then the boy’s father was tried and acquitted of murder! A much lesser charge was imposed. The icing on the cake was when the show interviewed the dirtbag’s brother who naturally insisted it shouldn’t have turned out this way (BTW he didn’t mention the molested boy even once).

To the father of the murdered boy: Good hunting!

He had said that his wife died in 2000, and all of his other children are now grown and that he now has nothing to lose.

This POS would quietly disappear and end up at the bottom of an abandon strip mine silt pond with a nice belly full of concrete in him to weight him down in my neck of the woods. Although he would suffer considerably before he split hell wide open.

That is VERY interesting.

In my neck of the woods, he would have a very unfortunate accident of falling into a running chipper-shredder, set on slow, feet-first, that just happened to be backed into a catfish pond.

“Maybe he is just clever”.

Could be but I think he is seeing an injustice and there isn’t anything he can do about it. It is really sad. What parent can get over their five year old baby being tortured, murdered, and then consumed? He has to be thinking that his son is gone and this guy gets a second chance at a life?! That being said, if he did and I was a juror.. NOT GUILTY!

Wasn’t there a story some years back about a father who managed to empty his revolver into a released pedophile/murderer as he was walking out of jail? I think the perp killed his son.

Someone (Ronin?) posted this last week:

Link to YouTube Clip

It might not be the case you remembered - but it sounds similar. He didn't 'empty' his revolver, but he achieved his desired outcome. Sounds like the jury (or Prosecutor) was pretty reasonable also.

I can’t imagine why he didn’t get the death penalty in the first place.

He was 16 at the time.

The man has been thinking of what to do about his son's killer since 1975.

No doubt he knew that animal would be turned loose much sooner than the time he was sentenced to.

So, instead of giving a grieving father closure and some measure of peace along with his son's killer's grave to spit on, our liberalized justice system gave him time and reason to plan vengeance for his son.

How is justice served?

Silly to vocalize this unless the real gambit is to simply influence the parole board.

I’m not sure you understand this man. He’s going to murder the scum who killed his boy and he doesn’t give a wit who knows it. You would have to be in his shoes to understand the pain and rage he is holding inside.

I have often said that if anyone murders my son he better spend the rest of his life looking behind. Once you loose everything you care about there is nothing left inside you except emptiness and hate. It eats at you like a cancer. I bet the only thing that will cure his feelings are to dispatch the SOB that killed his son. I know I would want to.

I hate to be the party pooper here, but nearly everyone's fine with committing murder to be avenge the death of a child? For those who are Christians, we are all called to forgive regardless of what wrong has been done against us. I can empathize with this poor man and his family, but to agree with him in his plans to murder the killer of his son goes beyond the pale.

Remember, vengeance isn't ours.

Flame away.

I would never flame you for your beliefs. You are right, but if I was haunted the way this poor dad is, I'm not sure I could keep myself from feeling the same way he does. He will have to meet his maker and explain his deeds. I hope that God will have mercy on his soul.
