PORTLAND, Maine - Feds Tuesday granted Maine a waiver of a key provision in President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, citing the likelihood that enforcement could destabilize the state's market for insurance.

Too bad Wilson, Roosevelt and LBJ weren’t as incompetent as Obama and his congressional stooges.


If 0bama is incompetent, I’d hate to see how he’d be doing if he were competent. 0bama and his minions know >exactly< what they’re doing. People need to wake up to that fact.

Is it just me, or does this country drift towards dictatorship when the Executive Branch can determine (via waivers in this case) which states and companies get punished by Obamacare (or any other program).

Remember back when President Bush told us that he didn't have to follow or enforce the law, and with all the talk about "unitary executive theory," many FReepers cheered the idea and flamed those who warned, "But what about when Hillary's in power?"

Oh, those heady days, when Democrats could never get power again, according to many.


Now, here we are, reaping what has been sown for so long. And President Obama is worse than Hillary Clinton.

Didn’t Obiwan just sya the admin. is going to appeal the judge in Florida’s decision? I can’t imagine he will fight all that’s out there opposing this...but it will likely all go to the Supreme Court.

I live in Nevada...we have Reid...he is only elected because California has invaded the state like a horde of locusts, and blue-ified it (at least in Vegas, and a little bit in Reno as well). Yes, my state elected Reid who was instrumental in it’s passage, but why should I suffer even more because California has ruined our once great state. Although, I expect Nevada to get a waiver soon anyway.

Be careful what you wish for, however. It is well known that Texas is booming. I’m sure your own California locust horde invasion is well underway, and it will only be accelerating as California crumbles.

“Whatever happened to “equal protection under the law”?”

I heard that was some kind of saying in a place called the United States of somewhere—I can’t think were this place is or called. Used to be a country ruled by as a constitutional republic—I think.

I agree 1000% - he knows exactly what he's doing. I can not understand why anyone gives him the excuse that he's merely incompetent - the truth is far worse. That's like saying some horrendous murderer (some in history come to mind but I won't use labels) were misguided bumbling ignorant fools and not what they really were...insane evil destroyers.

That likely is a concern in the future and in other cases with this nutjob. I even question whether he’ll be able to hand over the White House keys if he loses in 2012. But in this case, he’s carrying out the law just as written - he can grant waivers all he wants, for any reason. In a sense, little different than being able to impose taxes by fiat on his perceived ‘enemies’.

I believe that Obama is desperately trying to shift it back to the states. I believe that he will encourage the states adopt the public option, too.

That’s the only way he can win.
