I miss Tony Snowe-what a great American he was and how effective he could be now with the Obama administration!

Agreed. A moderate Dem, a dinosaur of a bygone era. Good thinker, good writer. RIP.

As a demonstration of how far left the Democrats have drifted, Broder -- a Democrat -- always seemed like a moderate Republican to me.
RIP, David.

Just as there is no such thing as a moderate muslim, there are no moderate Democrats. They are what they are. A truly moderate Dem will be listed as an Independent. They tend to lean left but will also lean right on certain issues. Carefully examined in their rhetoric, the moderate Dem still reveals themselves to be as liberal as can be. They are what they are. All in all, the only thing Broder did to mollify me insofar as his liberal viewpoints when he was attacking the 2nd Amendment and my right to defend myself and my family is that he usually left out the fiery rhetoric and vitrolic tones of the hysterical lefties.I hope I see him in the Kingdom. In any case, RIP.

Concerning that picture, it must be torture to have to treat the chick like she’s a serious person.

You’re right - he didn’t look that old... there was a kindness about him that made him seem more youthful. He was a liberal - but not a mean one...

Re: “Left-leaning? LEFT-leaning? I watched and listen to these two for decades. The leftist media always puts forth a select few of their cabal to trot out when they need the example of a ‘open-minded reasonable person’ who obviously has a more valuable opinion than some Neanderthal conservative. Both of these two were dyed in the wool leftists; they were just smarter and more subtle about accomplishing their leftist agendas. Aimiable dispositions and cordial on-camera acts do not make an impartial observer; it just hides their true thoughts.
I don’t celebrate their passing, but I do not mourn it, either.”

I agree with your assessment — no celebration now, but no mourning either.

I remember listening to Mr. Broder one day and thinking that his angle was decent for a liberal. He wasn’t brain dead. It was a strange way to compliment someone.
Tony.....
When I got a freepmail from Tony Snow my jaw was on the ground. What? He writes back?
Tony was a real person who counted his blessings every day. Darn, we snowflakes miss him.

This old warhorse should have been put out to pasture a long time ago. He hasn’t written anything worth reading in decades.

Russert was a pro-death CINO liberal jackass that was worshiped like Ted Kennedy. There was no integrity there.

Wait a minute, I thought this was one of those prognosticators that would live forever. I thought it was a position where if someone died they put someone else in there to take over, like with Dear Abby.
