Chick-fil-A president's appearance canceled at request of pro-diversity group

CHICK-FIL-NO-THANK-YOU: Focus St. Louis and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce said today that they are canceling a planned presentation by Dan Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A, following complaints that Cathy and his company are involved with anti-gay organizations.

Chick-fil-A, which is known for promoting a company vision of Christian values, was enmeshed in a controversy earlier this year involving an independent Chick-fil-A operator in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Family Institute, which is affiliated with the Family Resource Institute. The latter institute was recently designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center because of its anti-gay positions.

The decision to cancel Cathy's March 18 presentation here was made after PROMO, a statewide organization that advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality, protested his appearance and asked Focus and the Chamber of Commerce to reconsider.

Ellen Gale, the head of the chamber, said . . . "We are a pro-diversity culture here and certainly don't want to offend anyone. . . ."

We have a new one nearby. It is so clean and nice - indside they have a basket outside the bathroom door containing diapers and wipes. Outside in the drive up lane there is a trash can before you get to the ordering stand. Lots of thought went into making this a really great place to eat.

I am so sick of this crap Remember how they trashed the CEO of Whole Foods (of all comanies!) because he advanced a libertarian vision of health care, similar to what WF has for its employees, including part time employees?

If the right were ever able to agree on anything, we would patronize only those companies that adhere to OUR vision. The right has a lot more middle class folks who can afford to buy, eat out, etc. The left has a more extreme socio-economic base, with extreme wealth or extreme poverty

Anyone notice that when the market went down yesterday, only two companies’ stocks went up? Those were McDonalds and WalMart That speaks volumes about where the money really is. It’s not Saks Fifth Avenue or Chez Francois.

“If only the Christians were as offensive, aggressive and constant as the perverted who have taken our country from us.”

So the Christians should deliberately act like pagans? That’s not an admonition I recall anywhere in the New Testament.”

My thought is that while there is but barely freedom left to fight for religious liberty, we had best role up our sleeves and get to it.

Public schools, (yes, this means yours—that one down the block)are only one place to start. Faithful Christians should, I believe, aggressively challenge, offensively, the thesis that God has no place in the public square, public schools nor the political arena.

This hanging out in the comment section and never doing anything, because we Christians are entirely so holy that we are of no earthly use, has crippled the faith, this country, and actively ceded it to the enemy. The Apostles are our example and they did not speak the New Testament in a manner that precludes speaking up and speaking out! Christians, by definition, are offensive and should be aggressive and constant, or else reassess whether they can carry any cross at all, or were ever even called.

Let the fudgepackers and their municipal, state & federal toadies whine. I’m going to Chick-Fil-A for a 64 piece nugget platter for dinner !

Note to pinheads: being Christian and pro-family is a positive thing to rational people.

Well, today, since I am pro-diversity, I diversified my lunch menu by going to Chick-fil-A for the first time. There's a new one about three miles from my home. Looked like they were doing a good business. Good service.

I ordered a chargrilled chicken sandwich. Tasty and healthy! Only 280 calories and 3 grams of fat.

I will now make it a point to go to Chick-fil-A from time to time. I want to support this business that is being attacked by anti-diversity hate groups such as PROHOMO and the Clayton Chamber of Cowards.

Need Chick-fil-A coupons? Actually I did have some plus they had this one day where all you had to do was show up wearing clothing with the name of any sports team on it and you got a FREE sandwich.

I'm surprised you never been there before. I've got one walking distance from me.

p.s. Did I mention that I scored two FREE sirloin steaks via coupons this week? Yesterday scored a FREE whole chicken.
