(TheWeatherSpace.com) -- One of the most active volcanos in Indonesia has erupted, blasting lava and hot gas down the slopes.

Mount Karangetang is located on Siau, part of the Sulawesi island chain. It erupted in August, killing four people.

This mountain is along the "Ring of Fire, the volcano chain surrounding the Pacific Basin.

The eruption took place hours after the Japan 8.9-magnitude Earthquake.

No one knows the ‘date’ of the End of the World, because it’s not something that can be pinned down anyway.

No one knows exactly when it started, nor how long it will take, but it does ‘seem’ to be in progress. When the actual ‘end’ occurs, there will be no one here to record it.

I though all this talk of steaming lava, hot gas, and erupting was aboout Michael Moore.

Understandable mistake. From what I have heard, the major difference is that the noxious fumes that hover around Michael Moore are much worse than the sulphur-based fumes of the volcanoes. Apparently, showers are not a high priority when you have the entire working class to save.

"Full" refers to being opposite the earth such that the full surface is illuminated. "New" means the moon is between the earth and sun, thus no surface is illuminated. There are 3 things in play. Perigee (closest distance to earth in the last 18 years). Full moon syzygy (earth/moon/sun) in a direct line with the earth between moon and sun. Spring equinox...sun aligned with the equator. A fourth consideration is an inbound shock from an X class flare on the sun. That strikes the magnetosphere and often sets off volcanic and atmospheric (storm) activity. March 1993 had large storms, earthquakes and volcanic activity.

That “Ring of fire” is sure as hell burning hot during this past year! Can’t help but to think there’s more to this, given the pattern. Never during my 30(something) short years do I recall activity like this in such a short amount of time. Read that the quake yesterday shifted the Earth’s axis by 10 inches. (can’t find the link)

This event was the buildup from the new moon at the beginning of the week. I looked at the earthquake record for the past week, and there had been more than a dozen earthquakes above 5 in that area over 3 or 4 days previous to the big blow.

The Indonesian quake in, hmm, 2005 (the horrible one with all the tsunami-related deaths) shifted the Earth’s axis, it’ll be interesting to see how much this big quake did something like it.
