President Obama on Sunday called for gun-rights advocates and proponents of gun control to find common ground two months after the shooting which killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).
The Arizona Daily Star published an op-ed by Obama on Sunday calling for stronger restrictions on gun sales to buyers suspected of mental instability.
“A man our Army rejected as unfit for service; a man one of our colleges deemed too unstable for studies; a man apparently bent on violence, was able to walk into a store and buy a gun,” Obama wrote of Jared Loughner, the man accused of shooting Giffords and 19 other people, six fatally.

The laws we have, if enforced, would have made sure that this nutty fool could not have acquired a firearm. Anyone who has ever filled out the paperwork knows that.
It is a matter of tragic hilarity that national socialists get the simplest facts mixed up in their most grandiose statements.

During the last two years, Obama has personally sold 28,000,000 guns in the US. Salesman of the year for two years straight and he looks to make it a trifecta with this marketing effort.

Speaking of Gabrielle Giffords, let me be the first cold hearted conservative to bring this up.
When does her disability leave end? After 6 months, a year, two years, 7 years... never?? How much brain recovery is acceptable for her to continue to serve?
How long must the People go without a representative?
Granted, Giffords brain activity likely already exceeds most of her democratic peers, such as Reid and Pelosi, but come on already!

Oh yeah, that wouldn't be abused. What counts as "mental instability"? Also note that you wouldn't have to be found to be suffering a "mental instability". It would be enough that the government suspects that you so suffer.
As for reaching an agreement, we did in 1791.
We don't deprive peple of life, liberty or property based on suspicion, there are guaranteed legal steps which must be taken.
Who would Obama have making decisions? What criteria would be set? Most important, what protections would be in place to prevent abuse?
I'm betting Obama doesn't want to be specific here, he is just rallying his troops and turning them loose against freedom once again.

So, if a School or the Military don't like you, for any reason of their choosing, you could be denied your Second Amendment Rights.
Yes, it was the JUDGES, PROSECUTORS and Judicial Infrastructure that failed to identify this wing-nut officially...by protected Court Procedure...but that doesn't mean we should lower the threshold for the "finding".
