Tom Selleck Loses Temper With Gun-Toting Extra

TOM Selleck has quite the temper!

The actor apparently flew off the handle when an extra on the set of his TV show Blue Bloods picked up a real gun and started pointing it at people!

The extra — who was playing a cop but had never held a real gun — was horrified when Tom, a lifelong gun enthusiast and board member of the National Rifle Association, spotted him and yelled, “Hey, YOU! What the HELL are you doing? That gun’s NOT a toy — stop waving it around!”

“Look at you…your finger’s STILL ON THE TRIGGER!”

According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, the extra then squirmed, “Is the gun really loaded?”

Selleck replied, “No, it’s not loaded. But when you handle a gun it’s common sense to assume it IS loaded, and NOT point it at people!”

You’re right. I thought I was going to read a story about Selleck getting angry over someone with a holstered gun.

Good for Selleck. I’m glad his career is getting a boost. He seems to be quite an admirable person.

What a stupide headline....Lost his Temper?? Or reacted with a statement of “common sense”.

Selleck was right here and I wholeheartedly agree with him, but, his character is stilted and stiff. He looks ridiculous dying his hair and moustache.

Ditto! He should not have been allowed to even hold it. If there's anyone at fault, it's the person who let it lay around for any moron to pick it up.

Wait a darn minute.

Selleck is one of those knuckle dragging gun nuts. Everyone knows that those gun nuts (who oppose every single reasonable restriction on guns liberals can imagine) have no right to ever ever get upset over someone’s handling of a gun. This means Tom is a hypocrite (the most evil sin the right wingers could ever commit).

Tom should be supporting the reasonable restrictions us evolved liberals (who have never been mugged and who trust our government like those crazy Christians trust God) want to impose.

Brandon Lee was killed by a gun that was assumed to be loaded with blanks while filming The Crow.

I’m with Tom on this, but I wonder why a real gun was on the set?

Well done, Tom Selleck! Never let a gun safety/teaching opportunity like that pass without making the most of it.

He's one of the good ones in Hollywood and I almost always like the characters he brings to life. I related so much to his portrayal of Jesse Stone I named my new puppy Jesse.

These words alone prove that the 'reporter' has never been around a responsible gun owner/user and did no research or fact checking before filing this LAME word usage! If I "fly off the handle", it means I am making a hissy-fit about an insignificant item, Mr. Selleck, working on a show about police and their lives, corrects a clueless dweeb on a vital safety issue and that IS NOT "flying off the handle"! Imagine any injury, let alone death in this instance ... words fail!

Quiqby Down Under was one of the few good things to come out of Hollywood in the past decade.

Yes, a 21 year decade.

It was made in 1990.

Yeah,he was in the right. I have a gunshop and I am ruthless about safety. A friend of mine was being neglectfully unsafe one day and pointed a revolver at me a few times while admiring it. After leaning and trying to keep from looking down it a few time I finally told him “If you point that thing at me one more time I am gonna holster it in your ass”. He was a bit embarrassed but he got over it and has been careful ever since.

My dad did allow that a totally disassembled firearm was “probably” unloaded. Once you began reassembly it becomes loaded again. He was a stickler about the rules but I guess that is natural enough. He taught weapons for a brief period during WWII. I wish I could have taken his courses: Ma Deuce and heavy mortar.
