Oklahoma set to repeal collective bargaining law

The Republican-controlled Oklahoma Senate dealt organized labor another defeat on Tuesday when it voted to repeal a collective bargaining law.

The 29-19 vote means that some of the state's fastest-growing cities no longer will be required to collectively bargain with sanitation workers and other non-uniformed workers.

The measure already passed the Oklahoma House and now goes to Governor Mary Fallin, a Republican, who is expected to sign it into law.

Am looking at your posting history because a poster downthread seems to have missed a dosage and then in a moment of anguish, lashed out at you.

Be kind in your response.

By the way, your page is great!, I love seeing people such as your’s, and their photos, from Iraq.

John nows the landscape, but the goons don’t. If they succeed in repeal of the law, the massive layoffs begin. Then, and only then will the squealing turn into tears followed by stunned realization of reality.

In general, Unions are not welcome in Oklahoma. I don’t think we have much to worry about in terms of Thug riots.

While I agree, we must remember that the state DID elect the guy. Thus, self inflicted wound. Thankfully, they saw the light and will not make this kind of mistake again.

And next should be banning illegals from benefits, including free schooling, free medical care and free food.

I couldn't agree more. Illegals are a far bigger drain on the economy than the unions.

What’s the run down like now: Indiana, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma, and . . .?

There must be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth in the union hq’s these days.

It was absolutely self inflicted by the Republicans. They ran Steve Larget against him the first time - and he never campaigned thinking his reputation from his football and US Rep days would carry the election. The we ran Earnest Istook (never trust a man with a dead fish handshake) - an absolute zero against Henry. What a bunch of losers....red

I’m glad to see this, maybe they can make the lazy trashmen pick up a trash container when the wind blows it over.

This has been an ongoing irritation with me......

What’s your public union situation? Most of this has been drummed up by our public unions, the taxtakers.

I really can’t tell you. I just know most people are pretty anti-Union around here.

Thanks, I really hope it's different there. But be prepared. Obama, the national unions, like SEIU, are in full ramming speed mode. If we win here in Wisconsin, they're going to pick a different state to attack.

Are you a swing state, or are you solid? You could be the next contender. How many electoral votes do you have? We only have 10. It's not like CA or FL. We're pretty dinky in the scope of it. But those 10 can push the election in a different direction.

We're trying our hardest to not be a swing state. More and more communities are going conservative. You won't hear that on the news, but the overall mood of the state is going red. There are communities here there that were left, and they've switched to solid right. And not small towns, but fairly large cities like Sheboygan.

The overall direction is conservative, but we have to rid the vermin. This is what's going on right now. And the vermin are cowering in the corner, fighting for a way out. I'm not thinking of moving out of here anymore.

I can’t remember how many electoral votes we have. I think it’s 7. Yeah it’s 7. Bush won all 77 counties in 04 and McCain won all 77 counties in 08. We are the redest state in the country. We do have a Rat in congress but he’s probably the most conservative Rat and voted against Obamacare.

It must be so nice living in a solid red state. You can’t imagine how bad it was, we were getting from the state and fed. Abused by both. Now, at least we’re only getting it from the feds. You can’t imagine the huge sigh of relief on November 2 heard around the state. Now we have one monkey off our back.

Look at what Scott Walker is doing. He was the Milwaukee county exec, and for 8 years, he’s been battling that city’s libs. He’s ready for this battle. Just look how he got rid of that damn train. This is nothing new for him. I’m so proud of our state right now.

By the way, Scott Walker and Paul Ryan are buddies :)

Look at what Wisconsin is doing. Reince Prebus, the new RNC chairman, helped change this state, now he’s in charge of the National party. I’m not bragging, but look what’s happening here. Ron Johnson, a factory owner, beat the crap out of Feingold! We are delivering some great solid conservatives.

Your state sounds like my county. We have the highest percentages of republican votes than any of our other 71 counties (we have 72 here).

They don’t even bother running a dem around here.
