A woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a convicted offender she met on the dating website Match.com went public Tuesday with a series of media appearances, saying, "I want to prevent something like this happening to another woman."
Carole Markin, a Harvard College graduate and film and TV producer, was previously called "Jane Doe" in a class-action lawsuit filed April 13 in Los Angeles County, California, Superior Court.

I think she needs to read her own book.
“I want to prevent something like this happening to another woman” and make a LOT of money in the process.
Just goes to show, ya don’t have to be smart to go to harvard
Um, you mean going out with strange men you met online might be a bad idea???
really??
And this never occurred to her, oh I dunno, BEFORE she did it??
“I want to prevent something like this happening to another woman.”
Sorry, that would require a modicum of intelligence and self respect.
I had been widowed, and after I moved to FL, I went on Match.com. I made contact with a widowed lady and we began dating and 15 months later, we got married. We’ve been married now for over eight years. The system sure worked for us.
Is anyone surprised?
You know how to prevent stuff like this from happening again? Don’t date people you just met over the Web!
God, help us. Idiots walk among us.
I am very happy for the two of you. However, I would think there are common safety practices that people should use when meeting a “stranger”. Like, drive yourself on the date and meet at a restaurant. Do a little checking online. Let people know who you are seeing and when... IMHO, it is no different than if someone walked up to you, said hello and asked to go on a date. You don’t KNOW them... just a thought.
That link sheds light on her shakedown lawsuit. I have no idea if her rape allegation is true. Her lawsuit is completely bogus however. She is looking for a big payday.
Good deal!!!!
Maybe she's telling the truth, or maybe she's a loon trying to sell her two books on "Bad Dates."
He "forced her" to perform oral sex on him and she called the cops eight days later. Then she filed a "Jane Doe" lawsuit and issued a press release, with her resume, bravely announcing that she was outing herself as Jane Doe.
She labeled herself the "Erin Brocovich of online dating" and announced also that she's shopping a reality show concept. I'd love to hear more specifics on that!
Please allow an old grandma to state: dating someone you have met online is NUTZ.
She had the advantage. She could look around and if nothing there interested her, she could've kept on going with noone the wiser.
