Is name of Obama's birth hospital somehow phony?
WND ^ | April 28, 2011 | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 04/28/2011 7:00:35 PM PDT by RobinMasters

In the immediate aftermath of President Obama's issuance of an image he claims to be his original, long-form birth certificate, there have been rumors swirling that the name of his alleged birth hospital is not accurate on the document.

The image states the specific hospital for Obama's birth is the Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital.

That has sparked some cries of fraud and a flood of emails to WND, as some have noted that the name of the hospital currently is the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, and there's no mention of "Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital" on the facility's own website which provides some history of itself.

On its "About us" page, Kapiolani explains: "This is the story of two hospitals: Kauikeolani Children's Hospital and Kapi'olani Maternity Home."

It says the two hospitals joined in 1978 to become Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, but it makes no mention that it was known for a time as the Kapiolani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital.

The variety of names is sparking confusion, with one WND reader sending a typical email stating: "The hospital's name that was listed on Obama's birth certificate was not called that hospital in 1978. It was a different name in 1961 and later changed its name."

The birth certificate is a red herring. Even under the most ideal circumstances it leads nowhere. Proved beyond the shadow of a doubt is not obtainable, but it distracts from the mission at hand - we have an inept, disasterous CINC who needs to be booted on the merits of his actions, not his qualifications.

A FReeper had a couple kids there around that time, and confirms the name on the BC as correct.

I do wish these self-important twits would shut up about minor discrepancies they don’t understand. Just because it doesn’t make instant sense to you doesn’t mean it’s incontrovertible proof of a conspiracy.

Can you look at your child’s BC and see if the stamp at the bottom says “The” or Txe”?

Also the name of the Registrar. Thanks.

If you compare how Stanley Ann writes the her maiden name "Dunham" on the Certificate of Live Birth and compare it to this example, you will see there is no comparison:

My question is, whose signature is on the Certificate of Live Birth?

Kapiʻolani It is interesting that the person typing the birth certificate, (assuming they were Hawaiian or of Hawaiian descent) did not type the name of the hospital as shown above. Why would they not have included the apostrophe between the letter "i" and the letter "o". Can one of our Freepers from Hawaii explain this error?

There was no embarrassing info on the easy-to-forge, low-resolution digital scan that is now alleged to be the true BC.

That is why we know it is PROBABLY a fake.

There was no reason to fight for 2+ years and spend 2+ $million to hide the BC if the innocuous one they produced is real.

Shouldn't he be "booted" based on the merits of his actions in committing fraud?

Obama should be impeached.

If any Republican pulled his stunt, there'd be riots in the streets calling for impeachment.

True, not true - what I'm saying is that it will NEVER be proven and/or accepted as proven. That's my personal take. So, you move forward under that assumption, and attack the things that are undefensable - his actions since taking office. Maybe that's an argument from a realist perspective vs. an idealist perspective, but I feel like it's the best way to avoid a trap and misdirection. We're talking about the movement and mindset of masses of people, that cannot turn on a dime or stick on a single point. Politics are a sick and lowest common demoninator activity - it's been exposed as such to it's barest elements. To deny this is to put yourself on the sidelines of effectiveness. You can be an idealist, and pull support away from a positive trend, or you can support a positive trend. I understand if being an idealist gives you personal peace, but it will not effect the realities of what WILL happen and the limitation of what you can force to happen.

The use of the apostrophe in Kapiolani and Hawaii (Hawai'i) is an affectation created by a new orthography. In my personal experience in the Pacific in the seventies, all the Pacific Island languages got a makeover, the spelling becoming more phonetic, So Hawaii pronounced by non-native speakers as Huh-WHY is now commonly spoken as Hah-VHY-ee. The apostrophe makes the preceding vowel cut off short. I the past Americans spelled Puerto Rico as Porto Rico, even though native Spanish speakers always pronounced it correctly.

Could the Nordake BC’s be plants?

Very doubtful. Mine says that too, and I was also born there in that timeframe. Different OBGYN.

Including the additional punctuation did not become common until much later, 70s at the earliest. It is how we told haoles from locals...if you pronounced it properly.

Do you mean qualifications and eligibility has no importance as to getting a job, especially the most important one of POTUSA? I don’t know of any civil service job without satisfying these. I agree that there are very importantant and critical political tasks besides the eligibility/qualification but I’m not for disregarding the root of the problems.
