Gas prices keep rising ( Media asleep or worse )
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | May 01, 2011 | Jack Kelly

Meanwhile, Obama says: 'Let them buy smaller cars.'

It apparently didn't occur to the president that people for whom it is a hardship to pay a dollar more a gallon for gasoline can't afford to buy a new car.

The remark makes Mr. Obama sound clueless, or callous, or both, but most of the journalists who covered his visit to Gamesa Technology Corp. didn't report this exchange...

Gas prices have doubled since Barack Obama became president. With wages stagnant, unemployment high and food prices rising at the fastest rate since the 1970s, this imposes real hardship on many Americans.

It also means our moribund economy is likely to fall back into recession. When the real price of oil doubles within a year, GDP almost always declines

...

Obama has added trillions to our massive national debt, which is the most important reason the dollar is losing value.

...

The president may not mind higher gasoline prices, but he doesn't want to take the blame for them. So he's pretending to do something about them, while actually doing nothing. Attorney General Eric Holder will investigate whether "speculators" have been driving up prices, Mr. Obama has announced.

This is like O.J. Simpson's search for "the real killers." But the irony is lost on most in the "mainstream" media.

Oh they’re not sleeping.

It’s 100% deliberate, and co-ordinated.

Our so-called media is nothing but a democrat agit-prop front.

Nothing either free, or independent about any of them.

Yes, but the MSM is hardly mentioning these things. I went through the entire section of my local rag(San Jose Mercury) and there was not a mention of gas prices or food inflation. There were stories about the Royal Wedding and how required state budget cuts will hurt the elderly. What else would you expect from a publication that is essentially a subsidiary of the Democratic Party.

You can bet your last dollar that if a Republican were president and these same things were occurring, it would be on the front page of all the newspapers day after day. It would be the lead story on the Nightly News (CBS,NBC,ABC, PBS, etc). And it would be running 24/7 on CNN and MSNBC. This is an undeniable fact.

The sad and ironic fact is that so many of the people being hurt are people who invested in hope and change back in 2008. What fools.

People with larger cars usually have (gasp) larger families.

Are they supposed to drive two cars everywhere?

No, I suspect Obama would say that they should have had enough sense to abort most of them.

There is a movement afoot to place sticky notes at gas pumps with little reminders to the next custumer concerning the real culprit behind the increase in prices. How`s Your Hope and Change?

Master plan to control population and birth rates?

Also:

To raise the cost of automoile ownership and travel to the point it becomes prohibitably expensive.

To gradually herd us into gun free "urban centers" where we will be forced onto public transportation.

People in cities are easier to brainwash and control than the Bitter Clingers and unruly Tea Party types living in flyover country.

The idiots where I work blame Bush

I'd suggest a new job immediately. No future for an enterprise with that level of idiocy in the ranks.

Just like the million applicants for 50k McJobs was casually disregarded, the impact of $4 gas and surging food prices is ignored also.

I like this:

Obummer declares, “You will buy that POS electric car and like it. I will soon raise your energy bills so high you won’t be able to plug it in anyway. However, we will provide you with free rail service to the camps.” The Bill and Weather Underground have provided the template. The clean and articulate one will implement the plan. Will we get the picture in time?

I think all of us or most FREE-peoples that are conscientious know but it's so danged subtle yet moving so fast who does one lash out against? We KNOW who's bleeping us in the *** and it doesn't feel good but who do we scream TO when congress can't even go after his illegal bombing of Libya, and his intentional State Dept, (ad nauseam supreme court scum selected, softball questions from the fourth estate and worse) no one is managing the sieve of the borders, no one is touching "shovel ready jobs, nor stopping the printing presses which are devaluing our money at an alarming rate. No one is screaming at him regarding DADT, nor the Oklahoma shar'ia law(remember he first spoke to THE PEOPLE when elected on Al Jazeera) oh there's just an alarming amount of complacency, negligence, nefarious brave Sierra and yet who do we scream to when it's our own government asleep at the wheel? Again I liked the writing, so simple and yet Arizona is still fighting the inHumane Rights Commission on being racist and he's attacking America as we know it as every day he slips something new through that'll topple this or that part of the constitution four moves down the line.

The one thing I have noticed that they do not factor in on the percentage of inflation is the rising cost of food. It use to be the stores would raise the price 5 to ten cents on something maybe once a year but here latly they have been rasing the price 25-50 cents at a time and if the item is lets say cost only 2-5 bucks that is a 10 percent price hike and they are doing it all across the board. So when they march out and tell us inflation is only 2 percent then they are having the hired help doing the shopping because they are not seeing the truth.

if gas prices go up during a republican administration, it’s a sign of a crashing economy. if gas prices go up during a democrat administration, it’s a sign of a successful energy policy.

Actually CBS eagerly reported the drop in oil prices today as if it was an obvious trend.
