Osama bin Laden dead: body 'identified by sister's brain'
Osama bin Laden's body was identified by US authorities by matching a DNA sample to one taken from his late sister's brain, according to reports.

When his sister, who has not been named, died from brain cancer several years ago in Boston the FBI immediately subpoenaed her body so that it could later be used to identify the al-Qaeda leader if he was caught, it was claimed.
The brain was preserved and tissue and blood samples taken from it were used to compile a DNA profile, ABC News reported.
The tissue sample was reportedly then matched to the DNA of the man shot dead by US troops in a raid on bin Laden's compound in Pakistan.

Check out what the American media seems to ignore:
www.Emirates247.com I don’t think this was “photoshopped” as one freeper suggested.
For a host of reasons other than this, Obama is the most exasperating prez ever. Does he not realize there are three hundred million Americans who want to see a picture of the dead Bin-Laden and don't give a fig that the body was disposed of using careful Islamic traditions? What goes on inside that brain. The refusal to release the photos reveals the mind of the most arrogant bast...to every occupy the Oval Office. Clinton wasn't this bad. Slick Willy would have had pics out immediately.
They just gave it to Abby and said "Do a rush on this."
Both brains looked a like? ;-)
I do belive that they killed bin Laden but there are two questions that need to be asked. Why only a DNA comparison to one sibling? He had a herd of brothers and sisters and some live in the US. Secondly, all the forensic shows I’ve seen it takes days to make DNA matches. How did they do bin Laden’s DNA in hours?
You know, aside from having to say something nice about Obama, the real downside is that I just know that somewhere down the road there’s going to be a schlocky, direct-to-video movie titled “They Saved Osama’s Sister’s Brain!”
Remember before the Iraq war all those repots about how Saddam had several near perfect doubles, who had undergone extensive plastic surgery. Well..we never found one of them..and it can't be easy to be walkign aroudn looking like Saddam. or maybe they all went off with the WMDs?
I’m a “deather” - show me the death certificate..
Well not to insult anyone’s intelligence; but don't you think that documenting this was a pretty high priority?
Yeah...they should have put OBL in the cue with your state DNA lab...behind a couple of dozen rapists...etc and waited 8 weeks...instead of using the 6-12 hour field DNA tests that they have (and used for Saddam Hussein).
Yeah...I would be skeptical too! /sarc
Ohhhhh brother. Common sense people.
your 72 virgins will be in HELL and the 72 virgins will be Helen Thomas' clones!!!
Silly me, I forgot the current admin would NEVER lie to the American people, or ask the state run media to cover for them.
“Trust, but Verify”
I’m with you 100% on every question. The flash mob at the white house was interesting. The bodies disposal at sea is another. Why the rush? Lets put that thing on ice and allow independant verification. I hate to be so skeptical, but the spidey senses are tingling.
I used to do DNA ID typing for the federal CODIS database.
Two months (8 weeks) is just silly. That may be the time it takes a backlogged lab to get to the sample you submitted for paternity testing or whatnot - a priority sample can be processed in one working day or less.
Running the PCR on a fleck of DNA from blood takes only a few hours - running the DNA out on a gel takes only a few more hours - and analysis can take less than 10 minutes - but I bet they took at LEAST 20 minutes to make sure on THIS one.
In other words, if you gave me the right equipment and the DNA sample of OBL and the reference sample from his sister - I could tell you if the guy was the sibling of the sister in a single working day - or less.
So color yourself better informed.
Some dickhead on FOX this morning speculated that they had some fancy, fast track kind of DNA analyzer in the feild, on site.
