WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama ordered grisly photographs of Osama bin Laden in death sealed from public view on Wednesday, declaring, "We don't need to spike the football" in triumph after this week's daring middle-of-the-night raid. The terrorist leader was killed by American commandos who burst into his room and feared he was reaching for a nearby weapon, U.S. officials said.
Several weapons were found in the room where the terror chief died, including AK-47 assault rifles and side arms, the officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity as they offered the most recent in a series of increasingly detailed and sometimes-shifting accounts of bin Laden's final minutes after a decade on the run.

The Military is obviously trying to protect the brave men who carried out this historic mission by attempting to refute to the ridiculous proclamation by the WH, that YES, the SEALs gunned down an unmarmed man.
The WH was TOTALLY irresponsible to make this big claim in front of the entire world vis-a-vi their incompetent Press Secretary, Jay Carney.
Kudos to the Military officials who are trying rectify a deplorable situation.
The same whitehouse crowd would throw these SEALs under the bus in a heartbeat to get a 1 point bounce in the polls.
First, who cares if he was armed or not? A missile strike would not have cared either way.
But but..we were told the “bold and decisive” decision to go in on the ground was so there would be proof. And now they don’t want there to be any including a body much less a picture.

Even BO’s lapdogs at the AP are getting embarrassed by the conflicting and constantly shifting stories of the assault, but they cover it up by stating, that their anonymous sources “offered the most recent in a series of increasingly detailed and sometimes-shifting accounts of bin Laden’s final minutes...”.
Can you imagine the msm howling had Pres. Bush ever botched a situation as badly as this?

I agree. The SEALs should keep with the story line they felt they were threatened and in danger as a defense regardless of the pap being issued by the White House. Obama will be the first one to throw them under the bus if world opinion starts characterizing their actions as murderous.
I think some Americans are trying to equate what happened to OBL as an arrest attempt gone awry. It’s not supposed to be just or fair. It was not murder, he was a legitimate MILITARY target and treated as such, correctly.

Rush was right. The double tap to Bin Laden’s head was the best thing that ever happened to this country. Bringing that scum back to this country for a trial would have been a three ring circus that would have gone on for years, cost billions of dollars and in the end he would have walked free.

Osama probably didn’t have a fire arm because he would have had to register it under his name with the Pakistani government. Someone could have looked up his name and found the address where he was living.
Supposedly, the whole purpose of using the SEALS was to not only kill bin Laden but to be able to prove to the world that he's dead. Now Obama won't show the proof.
It pisses me off that Obama would risk the lives of Navy SEALS and 4 helicopter crews, probably about 50 men, and then NOT show the photos. If he was not going to show the photos he could’ve killed the SOB bin Laden with a couple of 2000 pound bombs and not risk those lives.
However, it is humorously ironic that Obama’s thousand rules of warfare politeness and political correctness comes back to bite him in the ass
Sounds like they’re getting too much flack from from Left about this being an “assassination”. Apparently we can kill the enemy if absolutely necessary but not assassinate them.
