Hmm... I didn’t see my preferred choice on the ballot, which would be “FOAD”.
Especially this part:
“The messages, including urgent blasts from the President, ... will supercede all other phone traffic so they won’t be stalled or delayed.”
Fuggitaboutit!
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
Freeped it.
This might be ok if I could get Obi’s cell phone number so I could text him back
Maybe
Texts? sure, Go ahaead, throw them in that pile of unopened texts over there somewhere.
Optimists take:
This is no different than the emergency broadcasting system that has always reached you via TV
Pessimist take:
Gutsy Call Alert from your Commander in Chief Barack Obama — Osama Bin Laden is still dead - Get your “Obama Got Osama” government issue tote bags at www.gutsycall.coom
Warnings ABOUT government agencies?!!Sure!!!
Last week I got a call from NOAA warning of tornado activity
If done correctly, this could be a life-saving technology.
Consider, a simple “If-Then” statement goes out. If you are in a GPS box, the phone texts you “Tornado in your immediate area, seek shelter NOW”. If you are downstream from a Flash Flood you get a text “You are in a Flash Flood zone, seek higher ground NOW”.
If done correctly, the broadcast would simply include a set of GPS coordinates - and only phones who are within that box would actually ‘take the text’ and everyone outside the zone would either blissfully never know the message went out; or would receive a notice that a Tornado was spotted in such and such an area.
But, as this is the Gov’t and the Gov’t LOVES to abuse power; they would instead do something like monitor what phones go into any partiuclar area, track everyone illegally, violate their privacy - and use this data to alert people who they have tracked.
Until, and unless this technology can be used in the “Right” manner - I want them out of my life.
If only they would.
Oh great!
Now we have the perfect excuse for another absolutely essential welfare entitlement ... the smart phone ... plus lots of free minutes.
emergencies
like “obama needs your donation NOW to defeat the Tea Party extremist agenda”
I don’t want any of those bastards calling me.
