I pulled this quote to help you out:

Dorothy Tucker of CBS2 in Chicago is the authority here and don't anyone forget it!

Clever, Jeff -- in a mindlessly stupid sort of way. . . .what about those kids who are stuck in the middle right now: what do you propose to do about them?

I've stated before that parents who don't feed their children should have those children taken away from them. Feeding one's children is a most basic responsibility for parents and your failure to see that indicates mindless stupidity on your part, senator.

Why aren’t the kids eating breakfast at home?

The dress code doesn't call for dress shoes.

You are stating "facts" that you do not know to be true and no amount of leftist race-card playing can hide it.

But there's no human component to the policies they're proposing.

All you do is repeat leftist boilerplate over and over again. I don't think you understand what conservatism is. You think you are being noble and caring but that sort of caring is what has caused these problems to perpetuate and metastasize over numerous successive generations.

To which rule are you referring?

I am referring to whatever rules all of the other students who received breakfast followed that the two who were turned away did not, whatever those rules are and however they were communicated.

It’s all part of the racist Democratic thinking. The mom gets welfare and SNAP (formally food stamps) for the children, but the racist Democrats don’t think the mom’s are capable of feeding their own children. It’s one more freebee so in this case mom doesn’t mind being disrespected.

Not only that, but Republicans don't care about black people.

It's for the children.

I just don’t get people coming onto FR in the year 2011 and arguing in favor of the nanny state. It was bad enough dealing with these ding dongs back in 2000 but now, with the Nation staring into a fiscal abyss, why do we have to work so hard to convince self-described “conservatives” that having the government do for people what our Founders assumed would be done privately is the essential source of the worst existential crisis America has ever faced?

Then they should be removed from the home.

Not providing nourishment would be neglect.

The article states that dress shoes are not required. Do you have some other information?

All you do is repeat leftist boilerplate over and over again.

Apparently you've missed the fact that the "leftist boilerplate" has been a spectacularly successful political strategy for them. I'm simply pointing that out. The fact that it's successful, is beyond any rational dispute -- so please stop disputing it.

And thus, conservatives need to understand why they're so successful at using it. I'm trying to tell you one big reason why. You won't listen, but that's your problem, not mine.

I don't think you understand what conservatism is.

LOL! I think you don't either. I think one problem with "conservatives" is that there is no good, workable definition right now -- instead, it's just a bunch of folks yelling at each other about why their opinion is right, and everybody else is wrong.

You think you are being noble and caring but that sort of caring is what has caused these problems to perpetuate and metastasize over numerous successive generations.

I think you're too pleased with yourself for me to take you seriously.

As a compassionate man, I have no problem with feeding hungry kids. Hunger is one of those things that society should simply strive to eradicate. Like thirst or disease.

That said, I believe some efficiencies and economies can be applied to the process. I'd propose that all free government meals be "Nutraloaf". Packed with vitamins and minerals, Nutraloaf would supply sufficient nutrition and caloric content to solve the problem of hunger, while at the same time eliminating the need for plates and silverware, cafeteria workers at breakfast, cafeteria cleanup, etc. It can be prepared in large quantities in a central facilities to ensure that no one receives a better loaf than anyone else, lest their self esteem be damaged. The federal government has judged in favor of the constitutionality of Nutraloaf (thank you, Sherrif Joe Arpaio) so we know its been approved by Uncle Sugar. Its an equitable, fair and balanced meal.

A few months of loaf, and I'd bet the hunger situation improves dramatically.

The article also states that dress shoes are required. Neither you nor I know what the truth is regarding the dress code.

To your mind is it also beyond dispute that conservative ideas are less popular now than they were in 2008? Did conservatism (indisputably!) take a drubbing in the elections of November, 2010? Are conservatives heading for the tall grass in Wisconsin, say? Or Ohio, Indiana, and Minnesota?

The article also states that dress shoes are required.

I'm going to need a quote then.

I do not a see a specific claim that dress shoes are required. I do see a (second hand) claim from the assistant principal that they are.

I also see a specific claim that they are not required.

Neither you nor I know what the truth is regarding the dress code.

Unless one of us looks it up.

 Dress Code

Shoes: All shoes must be SOLID black in color. They can be tie, buckle, slip-on or Velcro. Tie shoes must have solid black laces. Shoes should be properly tied at all times. Open heeled shoes are not allowed. Soft-heeled shoes are strongly encouraged to avoid scuffing hallway floors.
